  2. After spotting somebody else thread on "Piston Heads" on here, I signed up for the visit last Sunday to the factory, so I duly got up early as there was a limited number slots, and it was first-come first-served so arrived at about 8:45, and got on the 9:15 tour. Was very interesting, had no idea they were such a force at this and the technology involved was fantastic. Highly recommend getting along if/when they re-run it. Having been to Westfield's factory a few times, and then seeing this its many generations apart

  3. Agree totally. My Elise was crashy and choppy and not inspiring to drive, whereas the Westie is really compliant and 'plush'

  5. One of the reasons Id I don't work in an office anymore. You need full PPE if you head in there after the morning coffee.

  7. I bought one from them a year or so ago and it works a treat. It might leave a little in the sump, but draining in the usual way does too and this allows you to do an oil change so quickly that you won't be so tempted to put it off. The only car of the several in the family that it is not suitable for is my diesel X-Type because I have to remove the under tray to access the filter so it's the work of a moment to remove the drain plug too. Westfield filter is accessible, as is my Z3, son's Z4 and son's RS4. It might be a bit slower on gear oil I suppose...

  8. Hi Folks I am back from my winter adventure down under and able to answer all your queries for the 21st Anniversary Event! Regarding space at this time we have only hired the Orchard Area for the overnight camping on Friday and Saturday evenings. I am asured that we will have enough space as we also have the paddock area to park the cars under cover overnight. The field across the road does not belong to Shelsley so this area WILL NOT be used for our Event. The hill at the side of the track is available for pedestrian viewing as normal! I think I posted last week thay we may have to consider a small charge for those who want to camp but are not using the hill! I hope this helps at this time! I will do my est to answer all questions quickly now I am back in the UK Thanks Graham

  10. Following a successful (if chilly) breakfast run at the weekend, the plan is to make this a regular event on the fourth Sunday of the month. Start points and destinations will vary. The Monthly Meet remains on the second Sunday. As soon as the evenings pull out, I will also organise a mid-week blat during the intermediate weeks. Additionally, everyone is free to post up here, and via the whatsapp group, for any other planned or spontaneous get togethers. From the March meet on, I will be at the McDonalds at Boreham at 10.30am, to lead anyone interested on a country route to the Lodge. Ken (The Shallow Ford Man) Paton will be making similar arrangements for the guys coming in from the south side of Chelmsford. Under the prevailing conditions, six was a reasonable turnout yesterday. Let's get into a rhythm and put some road miles on these cars!

  11. The asking price is £4,250 MORE than the basic price of a new factory built Sport 250, and over £8,000 more than the new price of a complete kit for home construction. As Dave has said, the options don't really add a lot to the VALUE (note value, not price) because the options and extras which one man would find desirable aren't necessarily the ones another person would want. Now I really don't like it when people say that a particular Westfield is overpriced, because it does tend to down-value all out cars, but in this particular case, you do have to wonder. Maybe someone with a deep pocket and wanting a car like that should offer them, say, £30k and maybe they could get a bargain?

  12. Unseasonably warm winter weather in California earlier this month. I left work early a few times.

  13. QED sent the shorter spacers and bolts, so on the dot of 4PM on work form home Friday, I downed keyboard and cracked on. Shorter spacers, + dremmel action on the holes in the spacer to allow the sensor to fit + a bit of gentle persuasion. Hopefully that's close enough to get a decent pulse signal. If things got to plan Sunday, I'll get TDC set and remove the tooth on the wheel. Then it's just a case of wiring up the Nodiz, well plugging it in, the loom is made.
