  1. Sunday was a great opportunity to enjoy some Autumn dryness with a run out. Arranged to meet up with some others (Tiger Sixs, Ultimas, Robin Hoods etc) at the Chocks Away Diner (highly recommended) on the aviation park just outside Chester for a full English. Run over to the Ponderosa at the top of the Horseshoe Pass for cake and hot chocolate and then I split off, across country to Bala, Lake Vyrnwy and back to Shropshire. Road from Bala to Lake Vyrnwy was superb, about 12 miles of single track road, which I believe is being used on the Wales Rally GB Car, as always ran faultlessly but required a serious clean before being put to bed on Sunday evening Got to really appreciate the comfort offered by the heated seats, made driving in low temps much more comfortable What I did find amusing was the Ultima GTR simply could not keep up with me across country - all I heard was "My car has too much power and if I used it I would find myself in a ditch"

  3. Hi to all, I am a new member, from Spain, with my Westfield SEiW 2010 Duratec factory built. I had previously own a Caterham SV Roadsport Duratec, and before a MK Indy R1. Now, I am knowing my Westy, and making it more track friendly (bigger radiator, oil radiator, oil temp gauge, and many other things). And the last step, for now, will be ECU adjust. Thanks & Regards, Héctor.

  6. Interesting they are asking for witnesses for an accident where no one was hurt. I guess the chance to rub a rich mans nose in it is too much to resist, would they do the same for an Astra, I doubt it

  8. It was a good day. I forgot my external Mic so the sound is crap but the Westfield did me proud.

  13. Id appriciate that pete but there is no rush my vendors are still looking so i doubt ill move for a good while. For some reason they couldn't make offers because there was no offer on their house? Any way i said I was in no hurry so long as the house goes stc. I'll need to have a good look when i get in jeff it has sone sort of lean to on the back which looked like it was just on bare ground. Gumtree etc is not a bad idea. I pretty much cleared myself out bar selling the westy to get out of the money pit house i was in and get this one Down here so make do and mend in the short term is the order of the day.

  15. This car bears many similarities to my first car - 1947 Morris Ten Series M. The engine is essentially the same unit I believe, but slightly larger displacement and power. Inside there are familiar things: knobs to start the wipers and only the driver's side alone could operated if desired, and the rear blind was on mine as well. The 'ankle straps' on the rear door pillars caused some amusement among my chums as did the opening windscreen. Yours looks fixed but yours looks as if it has a heater too. I learned to drive on mine (well practised between lessons by my brother in law), and passed in November 1962. Those other elder statesmen here will recall that the Home Counties had very north-country weather over that winter with snow still lying between Boxing Day and mid-March. All with no heater and pedal gaiters that leaked cold air... Good luck with the sale - you're asking a bit more than I paid. Mine was £30 and sold on for £35 in spring 1963. Great times. Oh and the semaphore trafficators needed a good thump to deploy.
