So Saturday morning we headed off for Wrynose and Hardnott Passes taking in the Inner passes circuit again. Those that know them will know how incredible they are. 30% gradients and hairpin after hairpin on a single track road. They are that good we did them another 3 times Saturday morning before heading off for the Honiston pass and back to Keswick. Sunday was a loop round the Lake District via Matterdale End, Trout Beck, Ings, Lowick Green, Torver, Broughton, Duddon Bridge, Wasdale head to see Scarfell Pike and finally Loweswater. Today we headed home from Keswick to Alston up the Hartside pass and then down the Pennies to Bernard castle for a quick break. That B roads is amazing. Thanks to @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO for sending me routes to give us a fab run through the Dales home via Tan hill Inn, Keld, Hawes, Oughtershaw and Kettlewell. Then heading home south to Brum is a bit of a blur to be be honest as we were both knackered but it was fun. Our Westy has now clocked over 9000 miles since May on our road trips driving possibly the best of all the roads the UK has to offer and we have been from Lands end to John O'groats and from East to West several times. We have drenched it in biblical rain in Scotland, Baked it in Wales that hot week we had! and taken it up climbs 4x4 struggle with and motorbikes give up and go back down and once in a while drove it like we stole it! It is with out doubt the finest piece of machinery we have ever owned, no matter what we put it through she keeps going and taking the abuse and we have not had one breakdown thus giving us the greatest memories and experiences. It is indeed a testament to qualities of Westfields but more so the build quality of John Crane who built her in 1998/99. John sadly is no longer with us but if you are looking down from where ever Mrs P is still doing you proud. Mrs P is becoming a legend in her own life time, we just just have to work out where and when next!3 points

Cheers mate, Yes, I have thought about maybe fitting a fertilizer spray bar to the back, so I can cut AND fertilize the grass at the same time Tiggs2 points

Sat down expecting a really good F1 race for once due to the wet conditions and hoping to see a bit of magic from Verstappen . 200 yds down the road after the start and the race is over , Huge dissapointment caused by a ridiculously stupid manouver , totaly idiotic in my view and straight out of the Schumaker book of "Race Driving for Dummies" Have to wonder what vettels comments would have been had the roles been reversed and Max or anyone else had cut across the track and caused the melee . Hamilton must have been laughing his head off at the outcome Only consolation for me was sefac ferrari got what they deserved .2 points

I agree with you about John Surtees, Blatman. It is a mystery why so many less deserving people were knighted yet the only man ever to win a world championship on two wheels and four, a man who ran his own race team, a man who turned the tragedy of losing a son into a foundation that has help a lot of people wasn't given this honour yet "celebrities" have. He always struck me as a gentleman but with such focus that is rare these days.1 point

Thought were less, but still a bargain at £9.99 just goes to show that I should look at the price before tapping the contactless thing1 point

Jackie Stewart and his son ran an FI team as well and had a win with Johnny Herbert. I think because he has always kept up to date with the way the sport has developed and has a keen sense of what is happening with drivers, owners and the rule makers, his view is totally relevant. He is also able to articulate his views in a lot fewer words than others seem able to do. As an individual, he is up there with the best, as a driver, team owner, safety advocate, clay pigeon shooting champion and above all a decent man. When his son got cancer he threw everything into helping him get the right treatment and now his wife has dementia which I have no doubt he will deal with it with the fortitude he has in spades. And just a final thing that marks him as a good guy, he was employed as a sports consultant with RBS, when the bank lost Millions in the crash, he still did the work but waved his fees, cannot thing of anyone else who did the same.1 point

So Wednesday the forecast was looking good so we thought why not and we are now sat in a B and B in Keswick. I got on booking.com to sort accommodation till Monday then got loads of routes and passes to do from @Dave (OnliestSmeg) - Manchester AO Who very kindly put them on Google maps and emailed them to me. We left Brum Thursday morning heading up cross country to the lovely Peak District. I have to thank @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO As we done a few runs round them with her and others so we know them ok ish now. The best bit was lunch on Mam Tour before heading to the Snake Pass and in to the Dales via all the reservoirs and Holmfirth. We then headed to Pike End road of the A672 to Sowerby bridge and cross country to north to Wiggleswoth where we stopped over. This morning back on the road via Settle, Hawes and the across to the Lakes via Sedburgh, Windemere and Ambelside. We then did the Inner lakes passes circuit including Wrynose and Hardknott, absolutely fantastic. We doing them in reverse tomorrow. Need a shower and a pint now.1 point

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to pull out of this one Got really bad tonsillitis and not had any sleep at all. Someone can make use of my garage and if there are any other people want to take my place then let me know. I'll contact Javelin and see if they'll let me transfer to a different day but I don't think that's their policy? GUTTED0 points
