This is a brilliant road on the West Coast of Scotland. You just keep climbing up and up and up. Brilliant views throughout on this single track road. There are a number of hairpin bends just before the summit and these are great fun. Plenty of parking at the top and don't forget a pair of pocket binoculars. Just be aware that it can be sunny at the bottom but not at the top so its best to have something warm and waterproof with you....just in case. Here is a little video that shows sections of the road but it doesn't show the fantastic views . Sorry about the music. It may not be everyones "cup of tea."2 points

I wouldnt get so worried about exhausts popping, so keep your hair on !! Not everyone knows answers and are happy to read information by others and 300 people reading this thread is pretty minimal for the members here . It does depend on many factors on why an exhaust pops. usually caused by heat and unburnt fuel igniting in the system. If the engine is mapped in certain ways or even camshaft overlap is causing unburnt fuel to be cycled into the exhaust and exhaust heat causes igniton and causes pops. Using a cat , can keep the silencer cleaner from fuel deposits and so reduce the popping. By using ceramic coating or heat tape, can cause the heat to travel further from the head and manifold and into the silencer, thus causing an area to ignite and cause popping. As for damage, yes it can cause silencers to open up, but you'd have to have some really bad tuning to create that issue.1 point

Traffic will be fine, we are not going into Bakewell by the main route. Plus I have plan B if it is that bad. No worries.1 point

Sorry I've no pictures, but when I had a side exit exhaust manifold (bonnet exit now), I routed it down and underneath the starter before coming up to the battery. I never experienced the heat soak issue others have. You could run it through foil tube if need be.1 point

Well we are easily tempted by cake and of course a bacon butty at Curborough! Will the traffic and parking be ok around Bakewell?1 point

I'm aiming to be there with my XI. The weather is usually good for this show - I can't remember many wet Witney Motor Show nights and I've been going on and off for over 30 years. Simon1 point

Yes - I knew that, but still preferred the Westy - in my opinion it really is the best looking "seven" available and (personally) prefer the looks to a Caterham too1 point

Hi Party Goers Keep Calm all is under control:- MEALS All of you who have requested a place for the meal have been accomodated by the pub: That means all those who entered on the original web site list are in PLUS the following:- Matt Hillam x 1 Phil Nicholls x 2 Mark & Bev (2) inc Mini Bus ACW (2) Alan Smith x 1 Howard x 2 Tigger x 1 Grand Total 44 Party Goers Mini Bus Numbers I have just 2 Mini Bus places left so if Howard is able to make his own way to the pub then those 2 places can go to Tigger and Alan Smith. (Please let me know Howard) Thanks Meal Ordering In General the meal ordering will be done on the night, table by table but they would like an advance indication of who would like steaks, mixed grills and gammon steaks. So please have a look at the Black Horse Blyton web site to review the menu's and perhaps you meat eaters will give me an indication of your preferences please? Timetable We have a different mini bus operator this year but we have a sixteen seater doing 2 runs as in previous years The cost is £3-00 per per person per round trip To help Martin collect the money easily please have the correct money available for your party as you queue ready to board the bus. Martin will not come looking for you this year to get your money so please have it ready so you are sure of getting your booked seat! The first bus of 16 people will leave the raceway paddock at 6-45 pm promptly as the bus man has other jobs after us! The second bus of 16 will leave around 7-00 pm or just after! First return run is scheduled for 10-15 pm Meal Orders will be taken from 8-00 pm, I may have to do some random table allocations to ease congestion in the bar area as we are such a big group this year! I hope I have covered all your questions? If not please just ask! It just remains for me to wish you a very happy evening and a Great Blyton weekend! Many thanks for your continued support Graham (Glutey)1 point

I love the way someone shouts "don't forget to test the brakes" just as you accelerate away into the distance1 point
