  2. Managed a good 200 miles today as it was nice, sunny and dry. Discovered the A44 between Llangurig and Capel Bangor (bottom left section of the route shown) Really nice twisty road, recently tarmaced too.

  3. Got married yesterday and had the reception at the Bugatti Owners Club, Prescott hill climb. The sun shone and it was brilliant......Not sure the narrow was designed for so many passengers though!!

  4. Mine weighs 601kg with the cage, without me in it, oh and about 1/4 tank of fuel As it stands in this photo So, I would say he's a bit over optimistic or he had a jack under the car when it was weighed

  6. Hi @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - WSCC AO Rep When someone gets the weight so hugely wrong, I then begin to doubt all other aspects! As we both know the Mega S2000 is a rapid car even when north of 600kgs, so there's no need to fib to assist a sale. It could be a genuine error.

  18. I bought from MKF a heavy duty box with up-rated bearings, longer gears, standard boat anchor casing. Basically I collected it, fitted it and it works. No leaks, rattles, wines, it just works. I can't stay more. The price was good, call Mark to get a true delivery time and if you collect he'll probably be willing to make you a deal. I think I had to wait 3 weeks for mine. 1st gear 2.74 2nd gear 1.81 3rd gear 1.26 4th gear 1:1 5th gear 0.82 On a 3.6 diff and 195-50-15's, on the track I found it really good. Most of my driving I find it really rewarding. Sometimes on busy A roads I end up driving in 4th rather than 5th, but i'm used to driving a diesel so I think that's my issue not the cars.

  19. Indeed! I lost around 10kg off my car since build - and the same off me - so should be super speedy now

  20. Hi Ian, had my box off him this March, not had the pleasure of trying it yet as car still in bits I had a heavy duty long 1st , but give him a call he'll do a deal, he even delivered mine to birmgham when he was out dropping off other boxes, cheers Andy

  21. My last car with aeroscreen, no heater and various lighter bits, like battery, and slightly lighter seats, plus mutch lighter engine and gearbox was 585 kg. that weight takes some serious work to achieve with heavier engines and gearboxes, hence my sarcastic comment previously. None the less, it doesn't look too bad a car, I'd just be taking the description of items with a pinch of salt, and want to be checking everything for myself.

  22. That's the ratios I have in mine, with 3.9 diff and 15" wheels. It's pretty much perfect. Mine is a BGH though so can't comment on the supplier. I think MKF do boxes for a lot less than the one you linked to as well.

  23. Don't forget that probably more important than the tent is the things you sleep on and in. The best tent ever made isn't necessarily comfortable to kip in. Personally, I'd avoid airbeds and go for a folding camp bed something like this. Then get a good quality sleeping bag and don't forget to pack a proper pillow. Just for reference, the tent I took last year was this one. No longer available I guess, but gives you dimensions to compare against.

  24. Just a reminder of this event next Sunday 23rd April. We will leaving Tamworth around 7am to arrive at Bicester Heritage for gates open around 9am and travelling on the 'A' and 'B' roads to avoid the motorway. We will be going through Balsall Common and passing the Falcon on the way to Warwick. Leaving Warwick on the A425 Banbury Road and on to the B4100 past JLR and the motor museum at Gaydon, continuing to Banbury. Leaving Banbury on the A4260 Oxford Road and turning on to the B4100 to Bicester. If anyone wants to travel with us we can meet along the way, maybe at our monthly meeting place The Falcon, Sainsbury's car park on the A425 in Warwick or at the motor museum Gaydon on the B4100. If anyone has any suggestions of a meeting point please let me know.
