Managed to get a deal done on a lovely black SEight last night. Car is to be delivered next Tues / Weds to my house - just in time for Christmas....... Only a few niggles I will need to look at: Knuckles rest against dash in 1st - a pet hate of mine in Westy's is when the gearstick is too far forward, this is bordering a problem for me, but unlikely to be easy to sort I guess. Handbrake sits at 90deg when on - simple adjustment needed. There is some very minor rust around the front wishbones - winter tidy up job for me. Biggest issue - throttle is way over sensitive!! Resting your foot on the pedal gives about 90% throttle, the next 3" of travel add little more. Other than these bits, she's in fantastic condition with all paperwork proving the RPi pedigree and rolling road printout, all original build receipts etc. Hoping it's a good one and I don't get any nasty surprises.... Looking forward to frightening passengers, pedestrians, and probably myself!!2 points

If you type into WSCC search box the words Snowdownia Nant Ffrancon Pass in my Westfield and hit enter you will get a result showing Julie's drive.2 points

OK, I hope I've not started a sh*t storm, I view it as constructive feedback I also appreciate the time and effort that all the SS team and the hard work and time given up for our enjoyment.. I just think we have all the data we need without the need for calculations etc. Use the times we have, the most accurate data available... Current Target times are Speed Series Records and often and often National Class records, these are generally set in optimal conditions by some of the best drivers in the country!1 point

As Terry has mentioned there is a sub-committee of which I am one, who will be looking at the viability of different scoring systems during the course of next year. We will be meeting early in the new year to discuss and decide which alternative systems we will look at and how we are going to assess the viability of each. I must stress at this stage it does NOT necessarily mean we will move away from the current system in 2018 as that will be a decision for the full commitee once the results are in and properly assessed. There will be a lot to consider, and those of us who have been round the SS long enough will know there is no perfect system. A balance has to be found between making a fair system, which maintains the competitive nature of the SS for the experienced competitors, whilst making it attractive to new entrants. Consideration also has to be given to the amount of work involved for those tasked with the scoring and maintainance of the system used. We already have some ideas to look at but if anyone has any suggestions as to sensible alternatives then please pass to John Williams via PM who will pass to us to consider.1 point

If you have an idea for 2018 in terms of a better scoring system then PM it to John Williams who will forward it to the SSOT sub committee whoa re already looking at alternative scoring systems. As has already been stated there are always positives and negatives that need looking at in detail cos thats where you get problems. As far as explaining how myself and Graham Franklin set the TT's for this year you may just have to trust us that it was a fair process. Some that is still complicated and not understood by most people.( no disrespect to them) It would be too long for me to fully explain but I will try and give you a flavour in a post in next few days. Please note classes A and B are not based on their own "records" as there are not enough of them. They are based on the TT for classes C and D but made easier by the 2% for tyres and 1.5% for Novice status Meanwhile if you want to call me Adam I can give you some info that may help Terry 077678362341 point

Two times, divide by 2. Where previous year was classed as wet we need to go back further and take dry times. No system is perfect, I just think this gives people are better chance and rewards the fastest driver and awards a bonus point if the *record* is achieved.1 point

Another Year, Another Tinker As long as we run this system we will have issues. No system will be perfect, I get that, but I think there is better than this.1 point

I don't think I've ever said but the logo is a tribute to Pitman (shorthand) who was born a short distance from the JW factory and it simply reads Johnny Walker. Rather unfortunately when seated in the car and therefore read upside down it reads something complety different a far more offensive not something I could type and get past the swear filter1 point

So this evening I had a knock at the door from the DHL delivery man with yet another parcel for me. SWMBO is getting quite used to all the deliveries of car parts and generally doesn't question it too much but this time I'm not sure she was too impressed with my order of 250 custom printed stickers for the bodywork. I'm not 100% but I think it might have something to do with the fact that I only needed 3 but had to order another 247 spares so as to meet the companies minimum printing charge.1 point

Good to see Hillclimbing getting a mention for a change ( despite some inaccuracies in the article)1 point

There are lots of truely epic roads in and around Snowdonia, you will have a whale of a time. If you do the Evo, try to make it a weekday morning. Weekends are bikes, plod and Eejits.1 point

Would be there, but throttle bodies are off on their winter holidays at the moment! (Should be collected today hopefully). The tea rooms are excellent, and were sadly overlooked for years, but boy do I miss the C&F; it just helped to punctuate so many great runs out in the Peaks, with a coffee/tea stop and either a warm up inside, or kicking tyres with the other four and two wheeled petrol heads in the car park.1 point

I think the roaring fire and the bacon butties are calling so we will be there Shame about the Cat and Fiddle but the tea rooms are very good too!1 point
