  1. Update - the helpful folks at rsownersclub have got my dad in contact with the current owner, they're having a telephone chat today and he hopes to go and see it one sunny day soon - can't quite believe he's tracked it down, but over the moon for him! Thanks for your help and advice

  2. Why do we join, take part, wish to be associated with a car forum? I have asked myself the above question a good few times, having waited most of my life before being able to afford my Toy.. My westfield, then realizing that there was actually an organization built around like minded individuals who shared my passion for our crazy little machines. Having checked out the forum just once I decided that joining was a no brainer, just one trip to the search facility was worth membership, and I have visited that jem many times. I live in Alberta -Canada and as such don't enjoy the local club get togethers or the give me a call and we can figure out what to do info chain available on a local level that you have in the UK. I know of only one other Westfield in Alberta. There are of course other 7,s, Birkin, caterham, locost and stalker the owners of those cars are all great guys, and there cars good machines but it would be good to be able to talk brand specific:-). Reading the forum provides me with many moments where I must appear quite mental to my long suffering wife as I take in the humour and sarcasm dished out in a way that only the Brits have mastered and have the ability to endure. I am an ex pat, born and raised in Oldham.and as such understand and appreciate the banter.. Thank you all for the laughter.. You know who you are.. So, why do we Join? More to the point, why did I join, to be part of a way of life, that's what these crazy machines become, of course there is that exhilaration that driving a Westy gives us, that stupid grin...seeing that look on so many faces that says " I wish I had your car" the never ending upgrades, this is more than a hobby, more than a toy, this car makes me so much younger every time I strap myself in the cockpit. The club, the forum, is a part of all that. To all the long time members who share their knowledge with we less informed, I thank you. To all those who keep the club running, I thank you also. Checking in on the goings on of the club and its members has become part of my daily routine. From this side of the pond. Cheers.
