  1. Found that I can't get access with my current trolley jack, so I thought I'd shop around for a low entry jack & stumbled across one at Halfords £15 off too ! Down to £25 Thought I'd share the link http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductMobileDisplay?catalogId=10151&storeId=10001&productId=898893&categoryId=255207&langId=-1

  3. Hi Glyn, I'm on holiday at the moment so missed your post. WSC normally do a 15% offer around November time. I was on their mail list for a couple of years and this was the only discount I saw. about 8 weeks ago, I decided to look for and buy a decent spec Westie (I hankered after a CSR but they're simply too expensive). anyway I noticed the factory had their Mega S2000 up for sale. it had a great spec and not too many miles, I rang them, mentioned my budget (about 15% less than the asking price). went to look at it the same afternoon, had a test ride with Russ, and offered to put deposit down there and then. Although I paid them to install a screen and wipers I think they gave me a really fair price. So I'd aim to haggle around the 15% mark. The worst that can happen is that they say no but I think they are a reasonable lot...

  4. One of my biggest hidden costs was fluids. You'd be supprised how all the specialist oils etc for gearbox, diff, engine, coolant and brake fluid add up to a lot of money.

  5. I'll hopefully be there, albeit I'll probably be in the sensible family car as I need to sort the MOT on the Westie (which will of course curse the recent heatwave!). Isn't the naan mountain a Cheshire tradition?

  6. Seriously, the biggest hidden cost for me was "premature upgraditis" - whenever I try to source a component on my list, I inevitably find something that is just a bit better and a bit more expensive. So budget for decent bits from the off and you'l not be far out! Tools - I bought a decent 3hp compressor, an engine hoist, a trolley jack, a full tool chest and drawers, air riveter (total godsend) and was lucky to get a set of build stands from a club member. Not sure about anything specific to an S2000, but I'm sure someone will be along shortly

  8. Used to be hugely popular before the trend for 13" wheels took off. Nice looking wheels though, and remarkably light.
