Why do we join, take part, wish to be associated with a car forum? I have asked myself the above question a good few times, having waited most of my life before being able to afford my Toy.. My westfield, then realizing that there was actually an organization built around like minded individuals who shared my passion for our crazy little machines. Having checked out the forum just once I decided that joining was a no brainer, just one trip to the search facility was worth membership, and I have visited that jem many times. I live in Alberta -Canada and as such don't enjoy the local club get togethers or the give me a call and we can figure out what to do info chain available on a local level that you have in the UK. I know of only one other Westfield in Alberta. There are of course other 7,s, Birkin, caterham, locost and stalker the owners of those cars are all great guys, and there cars good machines but it would be good to be able to talk brand specific:-). Reading the forum provides me with many moments where I must appear quite mental to my long suffering wife as I take in the humour and sarcasm dished out in a way that only the Brits have mastered and have the ability to endure. I am an ex pat, born and raised in Oldham.and as such understand and appreciate the banter.. Thank you all for the laughter.. You know who you are.. So, why do we Join? More to the point, why did I join, to be part of a way of life, that's what these crazy machines become, of course there is that exhilaration that driving a Westy gives us, that stupid grin...seeing that look on so many faces that says " I wish I had your car" the never ending upgrades, this is more than a hobby, more than a toy, this car makes me so much younger every time I strap myself in the cockpit. The club, the forum, is a part of all that. To all the long time members who share their knowledge with we less informed, I thank you. To all those who keep the club running, I thank you also. Checking in on the goings on of the club and its members has become part of my daily routine. From this side of the pond. Cheers.11 points

I wonder if the nay sayers here would give an honest answer to a few simple questions? If it was 20 years ago and this was a sports club, or a working mans club or stamp collectors club or a photography club would you pay a sub to be a member because it's your hobby and you like to gather with likeminded people and have a chat? I'm guessing yes. Would you expect it to be run responsibly, indemnifying you against losses suffered by the club? Yup... And would you want the organsers to take the time to impart information by way of printed or faxed media when there was information to be imparted, to keep members up to date with club goings on in some easy to assimilate manner? Again, I'm guessing yes. Would you like to participate in club events at venues hired by the club and for a nominal (probably cost) price without worrying about the organiser profiteering? I'm thinking yes. Would you like to buy gifts, souveniers, shirts, hats key rings, stickers etc to show your allegiance and/or your support? I'll stick my neck out and say yes again. ==================================================== Roll forwards 20 years. This is that club. We just happen to have a web site that is partially available to anyone walking in, something that would not be available FOREVER to anyone wanting to take advantage of clubs in days of yore. You'd be EXPECTED to cough up if you kept on turning up, and you'd have to deal with someone face to face and explain why you think you should be exempt from the (quite ridiculously reasonable) subscription. If you didn't pay, you'd not be made welcome for very long. In fact you'd probably be told to jog on in no uncertain terms. Well guess what? This is a CLUB just like those. It just happens to have a bulletin board on the web that allows non members to register a complaint that they can't get it all for free. Name one place where you CAN get it all for free. And by all, I mean a magazine, AO's and their support, events, venue hire, indemnity insurance and all the other things that the WSCC supply and pay for with Monopoly money, 'cos apparently it's all free on the internet... If you want to be part of it, pay up. If you don't want to be part of it, fair enough you are free to seek satisfaction elsewhere. But remember, there is not one single club or organisation anywhere in the world that would allow an "outsider" to have a say in how it's rules are formed or implemented. I mean really, is there any more ridiculous a suggestion? If I was to log on to [insert bulletin board name here] and tell them it was all rubbish and they should do it in a way that suits me best, just how welcome would I be made to feel? It's not difficult to think that one through, is it?9 points

Hi, Just back from the Stoneleigh weekend and I personally think that it's been the best ever. The interior and exterior stands looked great, the atmosthere was great and it was great meeting old friends and making new ones. My favorite bit was the Sunday evening BBQ, I'm sure you'll all have your favorite bits too. Thanks for all those that came along, the sight of over 200 Westies parked up on block 53 was yet again a sight to behold, you all contributed to a great event. To give you a sense of perspective the maximum ammount of cars I counted on any other club stand was 36 Caterhams For all those that attended (and those that did not) I'd like to name (and in some cases shame) all those volunteers who made what you saw transform form the ideas and organisation of a few to a great two day event. Without these people to breathe life into the show it simply would not have happened for they are the real stars of the show. I sincearly hope that I have not forgotten anybody (and if I have I apologise and will add the names as soon as I am told) from Andy, Dave and myself a huge thanks Bob Redman, Martin Harmer, Philip Nicholls, Dave McNicoll, Scott Young, James Alexander, Ian Tolfree, Steve Farrimond, Martin van Zeller, Marcus Barlow, Ian Prior, Terry Brown, Steve Gordon, David Richings, Michael Baker, Dawn Frankland, Tom Frankland, Matthew Knight, Nigel Curry, Blessed, Jon Haiselden ,Nic Chase, Nic Chase's Son, Richard Botterill, Mark Assimakopoulos, Keith Coomber, Surinder Singh, Derek Hodder, Steve Livesey, Michele Stowe, Jon Stowe, Chris Moore, Jonathan Moore, John Walters, Margartia de Chastelain, Isis de Chastelain, Max de Chastelain, Don Hormer, Rich Clements, Martin Harvey, Michelle Harvey, Steve Farrimond, Gary Bunn, Mick Cooper, Duncan de la Mare, Julie de la Mare, Brian Jones, John Williams, Andy Reeves. Thanks also must go to our sponsors for putting on great displays that enhanced the profile and standing of the WSCC Troy and the Northampton Motorsport team. Luke and the the Playskool team. Julian and the Aerodynamics team. Toolorders in the marquee. Julian and Frank Turner and their families and the Westfield Sports Car team. We must also thank the WSCC committee for their continued help and support of the Stoneleigh event, thanks chaps. Last but not least I must thank two very tolerant and very hard working partners in crime. Andy Banks and Dave Eastwood, a massive thanks on behalf of the club for all of your hard work, effort and contribution to WSCC Stoneleigh 2013. We would not have acheived such a well organised and professional contribitution from the WSCC to Stoneleigh 2013 without your support. You two guys have gone above and beyond the call of duty. A massive thanks from me chaps, I sincearly know how hard both of you have worked to pull off a great show. Chaz.6 points

Well I've managed to tear myself away from the Christmas food and drink long enough for a quick update... Quick release arrived from Playskool - I'm really impressed with how solid it is, now fitted. Wheel is totally finished and working perfectly (in my study, anyway ) Took a lot of fiddly soldering and heatshrink, but pleased with the results - here's the messy side: The transmitter fits snugly inside the black box, velcro'd to the wheel - so easy to change the battery when the indicators pack up... Buttons are indicators (will be self cancelling), main beam (will flash once if headlights are off, or latch on if headlights are on), trigger for GPS lap timer on ETB DigiDash2. Now I just have to build the vehicle-side control module - hopefully ready before summer Enjoy the mince pies everyone!6 points

So you're knocking an offer which, if you play it correctly and effectively, is equivalent to 20% off your next purchase? Really? I think it's a very generous offer and I warmly welcome it. I'm sure as there is absolutely no evidence of it whatsoever, that you are talking in general terms about companies offering gift vouchers and are not committing possible libel (which would be entirely down to you - see Forum Guidelines) by suggesting Westfield Sportscars in particular are a "struggling business". (I really, really dislike libel lawyers and so should all of us.) With regards to parts being delivered late, I'm sure the factory are just as unhappy about getting late deliveries from their suppliers as they are to get calls from unhappy customers waiting for said late parts. Such are the difficult supply chain times in which we live - it's a real nightmare out there. Trust me, I know. Lately, the brass at the factory have really stepped up, coming to local area meets, listening to what our members have to say, telling them about what's happening at Kingswinford, and really getting involved with us. They've made this offer to us, in which no one is obliged to take part, and to which many of us are happy to benefit. I can understand cynicism sometimes - I can be a cynic myself. However, I really don't think that kind of remark is terribly helpful to anyone, and can only serve to prevent them making future offers if repeated - would you be generous to people who criticised you? Don't mistake this as a "standing up for the factory" post - it's not. I'm standing up for the club by encouraging suppliers and the factory to work with us to our mutual benefit. Things have really been positive and improving lately, something I've been encouraging behind the scenes. Please don't undermine that. No one is perfect, but we can work together to make it better. Honey, flies etc. Thanks.6 points

I think you'll find it's called civilised debate with a side order of p*ss taking... Do you think Steve gives a flying feck what you, I, or any number of internerds think of his spoiler? He merely posted a couple of pics of a pretty and fun to drive sports car on a sports car enthusiast's forum. He doesn't need to bully or otherwise argue with anyone who dislikes it. That's their prerogative He sure doesn't need me to defend him either, but it makes me despair when the mere act of posting a couple of pics of a nice car can quickly descend into a puerile, points scoring, asinine, idiotic, vitriolic, whinging session from people who clearly have nothing better or more productive to do or think about. A discussion/informed debate about whether or what aero' benefits the wing will deliver is one thing, as is a bit of light hearted fun poking. By definition most people with big wings on their car have them bolted on merely for visual effect, however as Steve has pointed out this is not the case here. Feel free to disagree, we have already seen a fair few of your contributions to the forum and we can choose to value them as we perceive them.... :d6 points

The dark side banned non-members from its forum. The thing died (imho). This club allows non members to view and post on the forum. That should be enough. It is right that non members shouldn't have all the privileges that members have, to turn your argument upside down, there wouldn't be many members. Just for the record the dark side charges about double for membership than the WSCC. For less than 8p per day I doubt you'll find better value in any car club.6 points

If you’ve been following some of the threads connected with the club magazine over the last year, you’ll know that the whole committee have been looking in to ways to make it even better. You will also, perhaps have seen that our esteemed Membership and Club Secretaries, Scott and David, have been meeting with, and discussing ideas with, our mags editor and publisher, Peter Osborne. We’ve already been enjoying some of the fruits of this, with a change in the flavour of the magazine, featuring more of a blend between the social and technical sides of the club. However, a few things do keep cropping up when we button-hole the AO’s for the views from our local meets, and indeed, we see the same feedback, here on the Forum. “I submitted an article, but never heard anything else, and it was never published”, or, "I submitted an article about an event we did in the summer, and it wasn’t published till the following spring" and a more general, “I’d like to see more of…” This is where the next change comes in! With effect from the summer edition of Westfield World, Mark Wendon – Smokey Mow and myself are now going to be acting as sub-editors; this will not only help take some of the load off Peter, who will carry on doing his excellent work as editor. But will also help us as a club, keep the focus of the magazine where we want it! It will also, hopefully, allow us to give a little bit more feedback on submitted material. Of course, this also means that Mark and I will know what you’ve been up to on the Boardroom and at events! So don’t be surprised if we come calling, and hinting at a little write up for the magazine…5 points

Morning Terry, We havent met but we are WSCC brethren with a love of the small expensive cars we drive. I have been exactly where you are now!! I'm also a landowner with teenage and adult sons who have a passion for moto-x and all things petrol related. I am therefore used to managing nuisance and noise issues keeping my own kids in check. Your intention to practise on private land is absolutely fine as long as you have permission and dont cause a nuisance in terms of noise, damage or lack of amenity to third parties. If you can find some private land and get permission to practice auto solo type car control have a great time. I used to do sporting trials in a special and practiced all over the place on road margins, railway embankments, waste land around the midlands with, and without permission, but this was in the 80's and 90's - civil law and particularly the ASBO act wasnt even thought about. I thought my practice was beneficial but when I actually went to an event a gentleman pointed out my errors within the first few sections. I immediately realised I had been practising the wrong technicques for my car AND the surface (mud). I'm rambling - sorry. What I would say is that you need not be worried about going to an organised event with other participants - they are all exactly the same as us and we all start somewhere. I would confidently say, that at any autosolo or auto test if you make yourself known at sign on in the morning that it's your first event you will be breifed with the other novices. Extra time, understanding and guidance will be afforded to you as you do the tests. What will also happen is that other drivers with experience will help you improve much quicker, and in the right way, by sharing their experience with you. This has been my experience in BTRDA events, WSCC Speed Series, and all events this year. Finally, and not because I am a harbinger of doom and the worst case scenario, but because I am a former liability underwriter looking at risk and catastrophic losses in terms of loss of life or disability I will point out two scenarios: A) you find a bit of land and get permission to go and practice, with landowners consent. Hooning around you loose a tyre and the rim digs in tipping the car over. . your car spins and you go over with it, ending up with a broken right arm. Sadly, as your arm breaks you get shard of bone that sever your brachial artery. about 2 minutes later you have bled to death and the landowner has lot of forms to fill in. B) You go to an organised MSA/BTRDA event. pay your £30 quid and HAVE THE SAME accident but this time , there is first aid and marshalls with ambulance, recovery gear and oxygen. They recover you and an air ambulance is on its way before youve even stopped moving. You get to drive again and the organisers have loads of forms to fill in. Its a drama but not a crisis.... Obviously the chances of this happening but i know what I would prefer :-). I encourage your wish to test the limits of your car - i feel the same - but would implore you to have a go as suggested by Bispers and others above. Everyone I have met at organised events are positive, encouraging and supportive. All the best James5 points

First meeting point at Kilmahog for those of us from central Scotland. Just as we were about to leave, our world famous internationally renowned rapstar buddy, Snoop "is it coz my Westfields black" Doveedov spotted a bunch of his fans wanting his autograph and decided he would hide, or it may just have been that his accelerator cable had snapped Luckily the headless Steeeeeeeve Smith, had a spare in his car and it was quickly changed and we were on our way. On one of our fuel stops at Loch Carron, Kyle our support van driver had a run in with the local mechanic who had been driving past our convoy. The driver then stopped, turned his car round and chased the van and found us all parked by the Loch. The driver didn't realise the van was with us, but apparently he wasn't very happy with the hand gesture Kyle had given him after he'd forced Kyle into the verge at the side of the road. However, his bravery quickly deserted him when he realised that the 20 guys in the loud cars were actually Kyles mates and 1 small mechanic v 20 Scotsmen gasping for a beer, wasn't going to end well for him and he was quickly sent on his way Kyle, was then known as "Kyle Van Wa*ker" for the rest of the weekend. It was nice to see another orange car in amongst the sea of yellow Friday night in the aptly named "caravan of luuuurve", saw a real bromance starting. Whether it was his fame as an international rapstar that attracted big Fid to SnoopDoveedov or the fact that he was wearing what we could only guess was his wifes blouse that night (Snoop, nobody believes you that it was a mans shirt! ), but the pair were inseperable, the romance between them would have brought a tear to a glass eye, or at least a tear to SnoopDoveedovs eyes if big Fid had got him into the bedroom You can see almost feel the love between them as they gazed lovingly into each others eyes when they held hands. The blast to Skye on Saturday was wet to say the least which cancelled our planned tour of the Island. We just stopped in the first carpark and hit the pub for a coffee and a chance to dry out a bit. Sunday morning saw the heavy rain continuing We had high winds during the Saturday night and big Kev has learned a valuable lesson, that you need to fit bungy cords to your overnight cover, especially if its an aero screened car, or it will just blow off and leave you with your very own Westfield submarine! Despite the bad weather, it was another cracking weekend with a great bunch of guys and good to have a couple of newcomers join us in the shape of Judder and Dave from the North of Scotland. Ian (Telomerase) and especially Craig (Jumpy) deserve a special mention for their efforts to make it up to Applecross after Ians fuel pump died and Craigs car got intimate with a hairdresser in an Audi TT. Their dedication to make it up to camp McWesty after those mishaps, shows how highly regarded the weekend is by us Jocks. Roll on the next one.5 points

I lurk weekly if not daily but rarely post. Nothing has fustrated me more than these threads complaining about changes which appear to me to be fair but could and I'm sure would be changed if after a trial period it was found to disadvantage or adversely effect the club. The point I feel is missed by many complaining here is that this is a club and clubs require a revenue to operate and provide the great events and facilities to its members including this boardroom. I get a lot out of reading posts but for my own reasons don't feel I have much to offer in terms of replying to most of them. I do however realize that people are giving up their own time to facilitate the boardroom, mag and various events and as way of support I gladly pay my membership. This makes me feel a club member because I am a club member! If I didn't pay I would probably receive the exact same in every respect but wouldn't be supporting the very thing I am utalizing which feels to me to be very unfair and unsupportive. It's a choice thing and for me I feel support should be shown to the club and its committee in the best way possible, by paying the small fee which enables more of the same. The negitives being posted are haming and confusing the club and its members. If you don't like it, don't pay! If youre unsure, continue to pay and support the club and evaluate its success in 12 months time! People didn't like the changes to the web site until they understood and used it, what's the difference? The subs are supporting a national club. Local areas are introducing face book and the like which I understand to be free so there are options. Sorry to take up more page space but I really feel strongly about this and just wish people would give things and other members a chance before criticising. This was in no way an attempt to increase my dismal post count5 points

From today, 1st March 2012, new users to the forum and ALL current non-WSCC Members and guests will enjoy access to the Search function and access to their own profiles for a period of 30 days or 20 posts, whichever is the soonest, from the day the account is created. However there will be no access to the For Sale sections or other users profiles. After this period, new users and non-WSCC members will lose that privilege. To continue to utilise the Search and have access to other areas of the site, and to be able to view other members profiles you must be a bona fide WSCC member - in other words, you have to part with a subscription fee. The WSCC welcomes all newbies and guests with open arms and we hope that you enjoy the privilieges we have extended to you. Please treat them with consideration and respect. Thank you, The WSCC Committee.5 points

You're entitled to your opinion, but in my opinion, your opinion is nonsense. Do you think this boardroom costs nothing to run and maintain? If non-members can have all the same privileges as paying members, what's the point of joining? If you'd like to set up a site and administer and maintain it that would ever be a pimple on this site, and do it for free while dealing with the high and lows of society, I invite you to do it and wish you the best of luck. People who aren't members should count themselves fortunate they can post in here at all and get the seemingly endless patience and wisdom of paid up members who respond because they want to share their passion of Westfields with others - many sites won't be so accommodating. Nothing personal and not having a pop at you directly. I'm usually quite neutral. But I couldn't disagree more.5 points

This a bulk buy with a difference. We are letting the 2 gites to club members at reduced prices. More pictures of the gites HERE Read the whole web site HERE The prices, from 2006 to 2010 were: 6th March to 27th March 2010: £195.00 per week 27th March to 29th May 2010: £250.00 per week 29th May to 28th August 2010: £395.00 per week 28th August to 25th September 2010: £250.00 per week 25th September to 30th October 2010: £195.00 per week The current rate for gites to sleep 2 in the area are £500 per week plus £100 deposit which rarely gets refunded as it's used for “cleaning and breakages” So, what should we set the club “bulk buy a gite for a week” at? I thought a whacking 20% discount of the top price would be good. So how about £315 per week. Doesn't seem that cheap does it? So maybe we should go to 30%, say, £275. No, still too high? Well lets go for 50%, a whole whacking 50% discount, that can't be bettered can it? So £197.50 a week? Half price. No good, OK let me have a think. Thinking.......... Thinking.......... Thinking.......... Thinking.......... Right my last offer, 63.6% off. That gives us a weekly rate of £143.78. That's got to be the best value ever. What? You'll have to speak up, I'm a bit mutt n'jeff. OH, lower. Well we are getting to the limit now, how about a massive 70% off. That's £98.75. Tell you what, as I don't like odd numbers how about we settle on £85 per week. The gites have bedding and towels. We supply the tea and coffee. Also there is bog rolls and soap and shampoo in the bathroom. So, to make sure you fully understand. YOU CAN HAVE A £395 A WEEK GITE FOR £85 PER WEEK A MASSIVE 78.5% DISCOUNT. NOW IS THAT A BULK BUY OR IS THAT A BULK BUY? That works out at £0.50p per hour. And, we'll throw in another special offer on top of that massive discount. Anyone booking before 31st January can pay on the 1st May. After 1st February payment with booking will be required. Just pm me or email Norman@Frenchblat.com to book and arrange payment. Our season runs from the Easter weekend Saturday 30th March to the end of October. We already have several bookings and we have some folk staying in the Lotus suite who are supposed to be out by spring but they were supposed to be out by Autumn then Christmas so I'm not holding my breath. As they're paying more that the £85 per week I'm not throwing them out. There's no catch. We no longer run the gites as a commercial venture so the club members may as well use them. We are paying someone to clean them and do the laundry and that's included in the price. We do not make a profit However,as we are no longer using the accounting system that was written into the original site we do like the money with the booking. I'll make a diary note to remind the bookings made before January 31st to pay. Payment should be made by transfer to our UK bank. I'll supply the details at the time of the booking. This has been a Verona & Verona production. It's both a sequel and a prequel. You can view the HD version on HD-Verona. The 3D version is on 3D-Verona. The catering contractors are Captain Colonials mobile catering wagon. Transport services are provided by Westfield Car loans Unlimited. I think after what he lived through as a young boy and true dedication to his chosen profession shows a real strength of character & personality - it's a shame some people don't celebrate the Country's achievers. If we all had the dedication that Andy has shown we would have a much better Country to live in - just because sport is his chosen profession doesn't mean he doesn't have to work hard - in fact the top sportsmen probably sacrifice more than a huge percentage of the population.4 points

Sooooooo, the wife is teaching a writing class tonight, it's 6.30pm, sunset is at 7.20pm, outside temp 10°c and falling, do I watch the tele, go on the computer and edit some images....or....get the westy out and race the sunset. No prizes for this quiz...what a freekin blast I have just had, bundled up, goggles on and grinning like a fool...took every country backroad I could find, not a soul on any of them, strange how the exhaust tone sounds so much sweeter in the crisp evening air. That last 50 kms on the 533 in the falling light with those bulbous 7inch cibies lighting up the road ahead was a joy...I am such a kid at heart...God I hope I never grow up!4 points

Further so, am I the only one who loiters on a forum for some time just reading, before deciding to post when I've learnt the forum etiquette? I will look at a forum for a couple months, and then in that time I decide if I would start posting or not, stick my toe in the water and see how it is received, then go from there. Anyone who barges straight into a forum without first taking the time to read and learn gets shunned, same as real life, you don't just barge in and be the centre of attention, have seen a few people join this forum as boardroom users and start throwing their weight around demanding this, disrespecting that, and that, for me, is what has lead to this unfortunately, that being said, that's life, every time the committee tries to do something, their are moaners. Can't please all the people all the time, if after 30 posts and a good read of the forum you don't feel it's worth paying 30 quid for, then it's your loss aye4 points

From today, 1st March 2012, new users to the forum and ALL current non WSCC members and guests will enjoy access to the Search function and access to their own profiles for a period of 30 days from the day the account is created. However there will be no access to the For Sale sections or other users profiles. After 30 days, new users and non members will lose that privilege. To continue to utilise the Search and have access to other areas of the site, and to be able to view other members profiles you must be a bona fide WSCC member. In other words, you have to part with a subscription fee. The WSCC welcomes all newbies and guests with open arms and we hope that you enjoy the privilieges we have extended to you. Please treat them with consideration and respect. Thank you. The WSCC Committee.4 points

My 2p I have never agreed with non members not being able to answer in the for sale section. A lot of engine / transmission parts sold are sought after by other car owners, who have absolutely no interest in kit cars. It's basically restricting the number of potential buyers. Would you pay to join say, the Allegro owners club to buy a steering column? I can't imagine withholding the search facility will make non members put hands in pocket either. Apparently they can use Google, so what's the point. (In the real world, if someone asks you something about your Westfield, you don't tell him / her to f**k off join the club and do a search! Why should it be different on here?) And, the number of threads recently rudely telling potential club members to "pay up or shut up" in my opinion, will have only one outcome. Potential club member goes elsewhere!4 points

not this old chesnut again !!! lets get one thing straight here f***** smart A*** , the last time i looked this was a car forum ,where folk come to talk about cars and have a chuckle to get away from the stresses of life ,not to pick people up on there gramma or spelling , if thats the only thing you have to say then you need to grow up ,and if my spelling and gramma offends you then you are more childish than i thought and that goes to anyone on here ,some of us are not all perfect in every aspect of life and spelling or gramma is not my forte obviously and i dont try to hide that ,so i dont need reminding about it by muppets who are trying to be smart arses , i have spent the last 25 years working my balls off at work not sat in a class room keeping myself up to scratch on my gramma etc i have had more problems in my life than a bit of spelling or gramma to worry about , the last thing on my mind when im at work building /repairing cars or even on here is my gramma or spelling ,so jog on4 points

Thanks for the answer in the other thread; I thought that might be the case. What's the old quote about "no helpful deed goes unpunished"? Thanks chaps and chappesses (if that's a word). Huge amount of effort and time, the silent majority DO notice, and I'm sure DO appreciate it. Thank you.4 points

Well I think this thread has run it's course now. The committee are aware of this thread and will make a decision on any changes if necessary. Therefore we're closing this thread. With regards to Guest posting, it was the intention to leave it open for 1 week so we're slighly overdue but that has been fixed now. Admin4 points

There's a work around for non member search as previously posted on this thread..... what the devil, do you need someone to hold yer ******' hand while you do it? Anything that's really free is usually worth exactly what you pay for it..... Soo, guests CAN search the forum, they just need to use a little initiative... They can't PM, fair enough I think, and they can't reply to For Sale adverts.....Big Deal...! If I post a for sale advert and I want non-members to have the option to respond it's hardly difficult to include an email address or telephone contact number in the body of the advert is it? ( I do it as a matter of course personally), but If people choose not to do this, maybe they are electing to give other members first dibs at the parts they are offering for sale. Again isn't that normal within the confines of a club or association? When I first bought a Westie, I came on here, looked around, figured out that it was a very worthwhile investment and joined up. If it's THAT IMPORTANT to you, it's hardly expensive to join.... If it's not that important, what the devil are you whining about beeetches? :laugh:4 points

they allways call me back , they are only human at the end of the day and are doing there best , i think the trouble is these days is people expect to much as we live in a age where people just sit at a pc send a email and if you dont get a response within 10 minutes start complaining ,or expect you to ring back after 5 minutes , the folks in the parts department do not just sit at a desk answering calls they are up and down stairs in and out picking parts for postage dealing with customers checking through kits that are going out ,, and people who go into the parts department in person are asking questions and wanting to talk for hours to them about this and that etc and more importantly there making sure i get my chassis before dave etc etc they are not your local audi dealership they are a small (big) kit car company people seem to forget this unfortunatly i suffer the the exact same issue i cannot answer every call or email or pm straight away or even the same day and sometimes i totally miss pm's emails etc if i sat there answering every call email pm i would never get any work done and people who come into my workshop want to talk cars etc so you end up some days thinking crap i have done nothing today appart from talk and answer the phone etc its hard trying to please everyone and sometimes impossible unfortunatly ,some days i find myself locking myself in the workshop at 6.30 pm and working until 9 or 10 pm thats the only time you can get work done without interuption ,even then people call at 7 or 8 pm i even get calls on sundays and bank hollidays i sometimes wish we could wind the clock back 20 years to when life was much slower and we didnt have the interweb and emails etc and people actually had a life after work instead of being avaiable for contact 24/73 points

You'll have to explain this to me. Does a dangerous road have great big jaws with very large and sharp teeth. Or do they act like a boa-constrictors and wrap themselves around you. I've never see a dangerous road, only drivers who drive too fast for the conditions and beyond their capability.3 points

What we, as a country, need to do is stop chucking our money at Africa, China and other places. KEEP IT! Charity starts at home. How can we afford to give money away if we don't have enough for ourselves???3 points
