  2. Avoid Thompson and cruises Thomas cook were great, walk in, give sales assisstant the info and within ten mins everything's sorted. Done many holidays using sites and planned many myself throughout. But really has been good just popping down the travel agents.

  3. Try walking into a Travel agent and just say you want to go somewhere warm for a few days, they usually have some deals available. Crete is very cheap at the mo due to their banking problems and also try Canary Isles, warm there still.

  4. After 10 years of ownership I am thinking of selling the Westie and getting something a bit more useable. Is a really toug decision, as I built her 10 years ago... Problem is I only do a few hundred miles a year, and it would be nice to have something the kids can come out in a little easier. Head says yes sell it, heart is yet undecided... If I sell, probably looking at a vx220 NA. Always liked them, and there are good prices at the moment.... Any comments to help me make my mind up.....

  5. well you maybe have two options 1. Simply use the car more as you say you enjoy it when you do - use it in different ways (track days, blats, touring - maybe you already do all of those?) 2. Sell and move one - with 10 years under your belt there's no reason not to go try something else although local members have gone onto Elise/VX/MX5 and whilst fun, one has already sold the VX, one has sold the MX5 and the other is looking to do an engine swap on the Elise because it aint quick enough maybe a total change of direction is the way to go - so rather than an VX which is trying to do the things a westy will do, but in a not so much fun way, how about going for a TVR or similar for a different sort of drive?

  6. Wow what a great day, massive thanks to Ian Hamer @ RAFMSA for running this event Not your usual track day but if like me you fancy a go at sprinting then this a a brilliant day. It's basically one track,( 3/4 mile ) very challenging with tight twisty and long flowing fast corners, mostly with plenty of run offs and sprint style standing start ( with tyre warming if you like ) Three times during the day the track is altered to add some new challenges, with each track you have about an hours practice and then a couple of timed runs, results are posted outside race control for all to compare. So I've had a great day, made some new friends, Paul ( black st ) and his mate Dave, thanks guys and all for £50 Anyone else fancy a go, these days are run monthly ( i think ) and I have all the contact details required for Ian, give it a go you'll have a cracking day out
