  1. Our Sevens are a reflection of our own individual personalities. Show and shine, speed series, road warrior, back lane cruising. Who cares...we drive um...we love um...

  2. I, for one, enjoy the fact that the Westfield draws a varied group of admirers/owners. Some like to have theirs as a stripped, balls out track monster. others, a fast road toy with occasional track excursions and others, an ultimate B-road cruise machine with a bit of poke when needed! Just look at the early styling of clamshell wings, red with cream interior / cream with red interior or the ubiquitous BRG with tan interior. Then you have the wonderful sponsor liveried speed series chaps .. for someone looking to buy a Westfield, what more of an attraction can you get! Some people stick things on, others take things off. One could argue, who's more anal - example; the owner who fabricates an extra luggage rack on top of the spare wheel for touring or the owner puts nitrogen in their tyres because it's lighter than air for sprints! To me, neither!

  6. As I'm not far from Gaydon, Land Rover and Jaguar and Aston Martin test mules go past the house on a regular basis. The F-Type sounds fabulous on overrun, a snarlng monster, just lovely.

  7. Agreed, way out of line, please be respectful in the same way you'd never say something like that to someone in the pub.

  8. The biggest performance reducer, or enhancer, is the driver. However, if straight statistics on club membership are anything to go by, less than 5% of them are focused on outright performance, i.e. Speed Series. If the member's Westfield puts on smile on their face, I'd say it's performing at 100% efficiency.

  9. Exactly Cleggy. The mistake is forgetting that to many, the car's a hobby, not simply the means to a lap or cross country record.

  10. Your initial question was never going to get a great response was it ! Takes all sorts to own a "7" and many a happy hour has been spent by folk in here not only making there car go quicker but also making it look nice (well in the owners opinion at least) Would be pretty boring and limiting for there use if every westfield was a stripped out racer If people want to add fury dice - so what :-)

  11. If you are worried about performance :- 1) take viagra 2) drive the piece of **** that you have, and stop belly aching on here.

  12. Mark, you overlook that I had wanted a 7 since I was 11 years old in 1957. Performance is relative. How many other cars can corner like a 7? Not many. My lad had a Chimera. Fast in a straight line (but not as fast as my 7) but was like turning an oil tanker when cornering compared to the 7. I won't go into detail but when owners say they want a specific component and spend good money when the consensus of opinion is that they should buy something else. The reason they state for wanting their choice is because it looks good. Anyway, just my opinion, I have no problem with the polishing brigade and those that choose the bits they like best, I do the same, but not at the detriment of the cars performance. ed to add that I'm repeating myself. ed to add that I'm repeating myself. ed to add that I'm repeating myself.

  13. Topical post this. there have been 2 arrests made for our robbery this week when they cam back for the chippers and my truck... we were tipped off so I was at the barn in readiness with a "friendly police alsation"... 2 charged but no kit back. Its a troubled place where the Police know who do the robbing, I know who does the robbing, they do the robbing in their own vehicle, get caught in the act, get arrested and are then bailed 5 hours later to go an rob someone else... Sad to say but i'm glad i'm selling up.
