Time to start thinking about those winter upgrades, so what was the best upgrade (perhaps we should keep it Westfield related!) for you during 2012? Not an easy one for me to decide on, could it have been the extra 20bhp head porting, the corner weighting and geo set up, or a simple brass saddle on the type 9 gear linkage? £ for £ it would have to be the brass saddle, but I will opt for the corner weighing & geo set up.

Mooch - the sump comes of fairly easy, pry it on the rear corners first is what I did. I had to take a bit of time seperating the sump from the oil pan baffle (big plate) you see under the pick up pipe after initial loosening before the sump came free. Time and patience is the key. It was nice and easy stood up with the engine upside down too The higher you can get the car the better IMO if you are going to lay on your back though. I did pop a sump off the car when I had it on axle stands during the build, so you should be ok. Dont forget you will need the new rubber seals at the front and back of the sump

It was a good run out. Thanks to Cleggy for organising and Stu for taking point. Just wish I'd known about Cleggy's weather jinx before now It slashed down all the way from Swaffham to home. I think I may be developing gills and a dorsal fin...
