  1. Personnally speaking, I would much rather buy knowing that the seller has had to pay an anual subscription to use the website and register their name and address. At least that way there is an element of security to the site, and the reassurance for myself that the seller is still going to be around for a while rather than do a runner with my money. We all speak to each other on these boards as though we are friends, but how many of us have actually ever met each other? Would you feel confident sending several £100's of pounds to a complete stranger who you may never have met or personally spoken to? The membership system at least provides an element of security for members when buying and selling, and so far has done a very good job of keeping rogues and scammers away from our adverts and the forum pages clear. Lordbenny I have no doubt that your reasons are genuine and you are not a scammer, and I commend you for wanting to offer your parts to the WSCC members first. I am however puzzled as to why you sniff at the membership fee but are wanting to sell on these pages where you may not attract the greatest number of buyers or get the best price for your parts?

  2. Well my sources tell me that he is having work done at his house and the workmen erected scaffolding or something in his driveway so he couldnt get his car out of the garage. Schoolboy error. I have no solid evidence to support this story so far but I intend to investgate so i can suitably take the p*** further when I see him

  3. So Lordbenny, instead of paying a fee to sell their bits on eBay or put an ad in the paper, you'd like forum users who can easily register with a false address and a disposable email address to be able to use the boardroom to sell their parts for free to the members who help fund the boardroom, with little or no recourse if it goes wrong? Nothing personal, not trying to be confrontational, but can you see where I'm coming from?

  4. And purely for the benifit of Porcorn sales....... 1957 Group Lotus/Lotus Cars begin Manufacture the Lotus7 1973 Rights for Manufacture of the Lotus7 Sold to Caterham 2011 Caterham Cars Purcased by Team Lotus owner Tony Fernandes Meanwhile 1983 Westfield Sports Cars begin manufacture of the Seven (pre-lit) 2006 Westfield Sold to Potenza Sports Cars 2010 POTENZA signs Joint venture agreement with DRB-HICOM for development, import, manfacture and distribution of POTENZA sports cars in Asia Pacific and the manfacture of components and kits for UK assembly. 2012 DRB-HICOM Purchases Proton and Group Lotus So Who has the heritage? Is it Team Lotus/Caterham because they own the maufacturing rights to the Lotus7 or maybe it's Group Lotus/DRB-HICOM the original designer/manufacturer of the 7 who now 55 years later are Manufacturing 7's again with Westfield? And as a consequence could we some time in the future see a Lotus badge appear on a Westfield? :d

  5. This is shaping up to be one of the best seasons for a long time with Mercedes and Sauber finding some pace. Vettel not getting everything handed to him on a plate, Benson and Hamilton are looking strong. Good to see Nick O'Rosberg pulling a win out of the hat. Gutted for Benson's pit stop scuppering his challenge for 1st but it could have been worse, they could have Mercedes' year in industry kid: blind, one armed, lucky McGee on the wheel gun Wondered exactly the same myself.

  6. Oh please someone pop that up on Blatchat [/mischievous] Does that mean that eventually the new "re-worked" GTM will actually be an Elise?
