  3. Fool, you should have stuck to cars and bikes, much safer than animals. I learnt never to trust anything that has a mind of it's own. Glad to hear you're ok

  4. Don't know if its any help but I had exactly the same problems with my 1800 SpeedSport (year 2000 model), it would rev up to the full limiter (about 7000) on partial throttle but on full throttle would hit a false limiter at about 5000 rpm. I took mine to see Troy and NMS for a remap to fix the problem as Westfield weren't being much help - from memory I think it was running very lean on the standard map too. Basically the standard injectors (red webber ones on mine I think) were marginal at the pre-set fuel pressure so they were reaching 100% duty cycle. I remember takling to Troy about new injectors but he said to increase the fuel pressure which as it turned out worked fine and was considerably cheaper. I'm running 164 bhp (crank) on a standard 1800 SpeedSport but its been running fine for many years since Troy worked his magic.

  5. My advice would be drive that bit further and see troy at NOrthampton Motor sport. Long distance yes, but he has seen evy possible Westfield engine and ecu configuration and has seen air restriction, small injectors, p*** poor mapping the lot. Yes a big trip, but garented success. I may not be a total numpyt, but ecu mapping and adjustments are out of my scope, so I trust a man to do the job. Mine and many websites have been here countless times for tweaks and upgrades, so totally endorsed by the club and this long term member at least.

  6. Thank you Terry. Let me make it clear I am in no way having a go at the SSOT of volunteers. I know or have met most, and have the greatest respect for their integrity and the good work they have done and what they are still trying to achieve. I just genuinely believe that this tunnel route on target times is going to destroy the SS championship.

  10. Reading S. Bloke's post, David, I dont think class F is his concern. "It's no secret that I planned to compete in class D this year and looking at the changes there with 10 soft times I really dont know if its all worth it." (quoted from his post)

  11. Any idea what engine the sump is off, oh and an idea of price, suppose if the chassis is ok I may be interested in that as well, you never know when you need a spare.

  12. After my initial concerns and dummy spitting episode I've relooked at my chosen class times and if anything I'm more hacked off and dissulusioned now than I was before. It's no secret that I planned to compete in class D this year and looking at the changes there with 10 soft times I really dont know if its all worth it. I think its all too easy to say just turn up and enjoy it. Personally I do enjoy it very much, I have even been known to enjoy a social refreshment at some events but more importantly I set my stall out to try and win my chosen class and see where things go from there. To that end I think I have been fairly successful. With all thats been changed in D overall honours are unlikely and so I'm quite put off. I really dont want to be travelling the distances I do for a max of 100 points. Soft times constitute for the majority of my pre planned events, I'm also hacked off that there was nothing said prior to these changes being announced, again due to travel times for me I pre plan time off work etc etc to suit. Should we expect more rule changes for 2013? My personal opinion is that if anything rather than attract its quite off putting. I've been competing in SS for a few years now and am having to decide whether its worth it. Hows does this make a newby feel if its doing this to a seasoned competitor?? I really do appreciate the hard work of the SSOT and a lot of the opinions on this thread however I think some things need to settle for a bit for the future of our Championship.

  13. I've not had these experiences so can't offer any advice. Only to say that a number of Bristol based kit car owners that i know use interpro and seem to speak very highly of them.
