jago got stuck in the other night then mate did he sleep in the garage.

i got a bit wet on the way home :D

speak later

tony

Yeah We got on and very quickly dismantled the whole front end - no siezed ball joints which was a blessing - just a little persuasion with a ball joint tool

There was no chance of nodding off - today I have picked up some Gunk/wire brushes and masking tape - so next job is to finish off labelling up the wiring on the engine and starting to clean up the components before removal of the engine

Dave has very kindly leant me his engine stand - good on yer Dave  :t-up: so it looks like Jago is hopefully over again Wednesday night - if you are at a loose end m8 and fancy a ride out pop over (I know you are like me, any excuse to take the Westy out  :D )

Hopefully my new shiney bits will have arrived by then so we can have a rummage through some boxes to look at the bling  :D

If any of you local boys wanna pop over to lend a hand or just yer brain just let us know - all are welcome  :t-up:

Sam - come and get yer heat exchangers m8

To make the thing a bit more pleasant to work on ready for the engine out job I have just spent the last hour or two with my old m8 Gunk and his best friend Mr Pressurewasher

it's gone from this

the adjusters for the front beam should be here this week so front axle is cleaned up a little ready for them to be fitted

Christ I thought a Westie was hard but this lloks like a proper job. Keep it up Cleggy and keep the posting going. Looks like the Cambs boys are providing the education this summer with Chaz having made the effort as well.

Well back to the build - or should I say dismantling - had another good session with me old m8 Jago and managed to lift the engine out - it was quite manageable with two

The engine is now out and resting on the floor - the bracket is attached to the casing ready for lifting onto the stand (need some m8's for that bit)  :D Unfortunately I did not have any bolts long enough so you can guess where I visited today

SANY1543.jpg

This one shows the gearbox and axle/drum fully un-bolted ready for some m8's to come give me a lift -- come on it's a team effort  :D

SANY1565.jpg

This pictures shows the only nut/bolt that has proved to be a total b***h to get un-done - would of helped if I had of had a suitable sized socket - but hey I dragged out an old family heirloom - a rather rusty but large adjustable spanner - so with the help of a jack under the drum and a sledgehammer I gently teased the nut loose  :D

SANY1551.jpg

Here are the axle adjusters - need to ring a new contact with the knowledge to fit them next week - you will also notive some bling items - nothing too tacky just a bit of alloy here n there with some nice yellow ignition leads

SANY1569.jpg

More bling - probably getting ahead of myself here - but boy does it make me feel better  :p

SANY1568.jpg

This picture just makes me feel a bit better about life in general

SANY1180.jpg

and this one just cause I felt like it  - wont be long before your back in the garage - she's been left at work and is feeling a bit neglected at the moment

Couldn't afford Buttons button off his shirt  :D

More progress - managed to man handle the gearbox/drive shaft/drum assembly off myself this morning

SANY1628.jpg

and with Tony and Daves (Dave from Leicester) help we managed to get the engine onto the stand (thanks Dave from Peterborough) way too many Dave's involved in this  :D

SANY1630.jpg

time for a shuffle around in the garage to make room and make things a bit easier to work on - chassis temporarily lifted up out of the way whilst engine and gearbox get moved to the back of the garage
