cleowuss
Hi all As 1 of the members who volunteered to marshall yesterday i'd like to say your thanks are very welcome I'd like to thank Buzz,Emma Paul and the team for a good day Yes it was cold and windy stood on country corner but I got wave the red flag a couple times. I like to thank Richard for giving me a fast ride up the hill in the lime green car. It took an hour or so till my diaphram stopped aching( I nearly forgot to breathe for the start and first three corners ) the grin still hasn't gone from my face It was interesting to watch the cars in and out of the corner. I could tell which cars were on the limit. If i could give out prizes 1st Green westie with yellow wings. looked really twitchy out of the corners 2nd Silver Scuby saloon. Big tank slapper up the straight, then a slower run then a spin in the corner. 3rd Red hillman Imp? Up to the end of the straight lock up the fronts, turn the wheel, lift off the brakes and round the corner it went Thanks again for a good day. If I'am available next year count me in as a marshall Cheers Rich

erictharg
I'll echo the thanks to all involved in organising and running the event. Was my first club event but I'm sure I'll be along to others soon. Good shakedown for the Eleven. Didn't miss a beat and nothing broke or fell off on the 140 mile run up from Oundle. Even had fun going home in the rain going past all the "regular" cars. Standing water a little disconcerting though in a 500kg car at 70mph... suddenly turns into a water ski. Commiserations to those who had an "off". Hope it wasn't too serious. Website for photographer looks like: www.whatnonegatives.co.uk Didn't see anything up there yet from yesterday though.
paulwoodford
But the question remains-who was the mysterious photographer in the marshall station at the bottom esses? Show yourself, mysterious photographer in the marshall station at the bottom esses!
*Emma*
The photographer is Phill Andrews, and his website is here, he has taken around 700 pics, so there won't be anything there until Wednesday. It was my first experience of marshalling, shame it was so cold. I really regretted having said to my co-marshal Deborah "I wish someone would go off and give me some sweeping up to do because I'm so cold", as five minutes later, Richard did just that. Do marshals really have to eat? Yes, Andy, they do. And warm their frozen hands on cups of hot chocolate. And have a sit down. Will I marshal again? Of course!!! greenandmean
Lousy as the weather was we at least got to run the event and everyone seemed to enjoy it, whilst at Silverstone the 2nd World Superbike race was cancelled, and Prescott and Gurston hill-climbs were called off.So looks like the weather wasn't that bad after all or are they just southern softies. greenandmean
Worry not Andy, we closed the hill at about 3-30, in fact I drove over the cattle grid at 4-23 having put all the equipment away ( with help from Rob and Buzz). Hope your lads enjoyed it and there help was much appreciated, please pass on my personal thanks to them tomorrow night.

funbobby
A MASSIVE thank you to the organising team - despite the rain it was a class event. Sat night in the Mad Marquee was superb Simon your a legend! Ensured we had enough beers to get some kip in the tent while it was peeing down! Thanks also to the Marshalls - very much appreciated. Cheers to Scott and Graham for helping to put the Gazebo up - we looked like four chuckle brothers! Good crack on the Sat night also. Also a big thanks to Wobs our spanner man - class act! Sorry about the two damaged Westy's I hope they are not too badly damaged and will be out again soon in the sunshine. How nice is that Sunbeam Stilleto!
