volvorsport
just been reading - the 2 litre BTCC engines used a 73.9mm crank , so something special in there . they did however use an 83mm block so at least youve started with the right one !!! RS WST
After over a year of waiting I finally got my head and cams back from QEP / Cat Cams Just need to get some pistons made and I can start bolting the engine together. Need to redress the inlet valve seat area and skim the head also
FW500
Impressive as usual Austen. What's going on with the injectors - looks great but can't work out how it all works.
RS WST
I'm running 2 banks of injectors, one close to the head and another set firing down the trumpets Outer set will come on further up the RPM range
FW500
I see - ah just realised this isn't turbo'd anymore is it? I was wondering how it would all sit inside a plenum but then noticed the length of the trumpets.
RS WST
Decided to run nasp in the end More controlable than a point and squirt turbo IMO
Paul Aspden
So I gess the head is off to JWT at Stanwoods for a skim? and order the pistons whilst your their? Nasp is defo the way to go, you've sampled turbo power and you nkow what its like in 500kg car, so why repeat yourself? keep up the good work mate. Buzz Billsberry
Austen you need to get a girlfriend with big breasts... engines are ruining your life!! Buzz
RS WST
Thanks Buzz I'll take your advice on board Engines are probably the cheaper of the two however from my experience Going to see Jonny next week to get the head skimmed and spec pistons Turbo power was good but not as responsive out the bends and has way too much torque for such a little car so we shall see how nasp performs If it's not fast enough a sniff of NOS should sort that out
