chrisbin Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 demonstarting an understanding Dyslexics could strate a demonstartum against some peeps. stop trying to wind people up...... *another stella, thanks....* Quote
James Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 This depends greatly on the indeviduel problems with dyslexia and it is imposible to label everyone with the same brush! to that end I think that it is used widly as an excuse in this bulls*** pc world we now live in, because too many people use it as an excuse is r the reason I dont like admitting that I have the problem thankfully in my line of work spelling is not that important and I can side step my way around most of the issue's but does it inhabit my life? yes on a daily bl**** bases in stupid way's you cant even imagine, I am told that it is a gift and it has posative sides to it as well, yeh right this is fun having to explain to the world why have the spelling skills of a six year old!! but none of this means that my opinons are any less valid due to not being able to articulate my self in a way that might make my opinons easier to understand. chrisbin Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Pah. Proof read it twice too... Its OK Blatters, that's the US spelling....... Quote
Blatman Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 "company for a job say they are dyslexic in there (their) cv". Plenty do - then if you reject them they claim disability discrimination. In the same way that we get Cv's with a race printed in BOLD How can they prove you A) received it (recorded mail notwithstanding...) and B) you read it. You could be dyslexic and not have understood it. Which kind of proves my point... Quote
Blatman Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 but none of this means that my opinons are any less valid due to not being able to articulate my self in a way that might make my opinons easier to understand. I agree wholeheartedly, as I already said. But what started it was that you said spelling was unimportant. I disagree with that assesment. As adults, I hope was can agree to differ without starting WW3 Quote

James Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Pah. Proof read it twice too... Yeh that will help when it looks the same both times Quote

As adults, I hope was can agree to differ without starting WW3 Absolutley I belive that ideas and content is the most important thing. Albert Einstein was dyslexic I wonder where we would be now if his opinons and ideas were troden on because he couldent spell Quote
Aves Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Well quite..........but then the guy from Iraq that we interviewed had little grasp of the English language & less of the English/Welsh legal system. Up against the (admittedly fit) young lady with a 2.1 from Bristol & a distinction in her LPC he stood little chance.........but that didn't stop him having a go. Seriously, if you bin these people & they make an issue of it the burden is effectively on you to show that it wasn't because they were from some disadvantaged group - even coffin dodgers shortly. Anyway - Westfields are cr@p Quote
Blatman Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 One more spelling thing (Renmure...) Once you get stuck in to a load of CV's it becomes painfully obvious as to whether you are looking at a simple typo, or a spelling mistake... *Takes another swig of Stella* Quote
Blatman Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Anyway - Westfields are cr@p Finally something that makes sense, except you seem to have spelt Caterham wrong Quote
