I just can't see how our cars slot together WRT weight, that's all, while I can with Glens, so I'm puzzled. The weight you saw at the SVA was a straight addition of the front and rear axles measured as separate entities... you need the computer to do some simple maths to arrive at the total weight - approx 70% - and this is a big guess on my part and only from what I saw on the day for my car.

what we need is a mass weigh in, and even then, this will give only comparative rather than absolute results... besides, since I filled my tyres with Helium, it weighs 30kg less  :D  :D  :D

Get them to Curborough this weekend. ACW is bringing his scales. I'll be putting my (sprint) car on, 'cos I haven't weighed it since I changed from flared arches, and set about removing some of the extraneous bits and pieces, and adding different ones.....

I can't get to Curborough this weekend. However, I am (hopefully) doing the Goodwood sprint if something can happen there I do not mind.

What justification is there in believing that Glen's car weighs 563kg at Northampton motorsport and not believing mine at track developements apart from WSCC sponsorship.

I am surprised that many of you actually except that Glen's car weighs that weight  :suspect:  :suspect:

Much as we're surprised that you don't....

If you don't mind me asking Nick, how much do you think your car weighs.

Have you ever seen a Duratec powered modern Westie?

Before you go getting all defensive again,

thats a bit harsh blatman, let me start criticising any one of your westies, i'm sure if i did you would defend them. i have posted my weight of my car cos it was actual and i thought it was worth posting, yes i am proud of it the same as you with your cossie powered car as is/was glen.

You thought Glens car weighed 540kg but now theres ammo your surprised it weighs more than 560kg, confusing.

we know why you should defend a wscc sponsors equipment  ;) but hey gosh suppose there wrong.

I *know* that on the last set of proper race scales it was on, and with about 1/3 of a tank of fuel, it weighed 535Kg.  Since then it's had a cage added so it's going to be a bit more now.

And no, I haven't seen a Durabang engined Westy "in the flesh", but then why would I need to ??  ???

So your car on "proper" race scales weighs probably less than mine then in some peoples eyes on here, well I blowed.

If you had seen a modern Duratec powered car if may stop you talking out of your   :arse:

Is Durabang an American term for can't wait any longer I'm gonna explode ???

How much power, Glen? Power to weight is the next question, although I reckon you'll have less power to weight than my narrow Cossie car :p:p

Sorrry  Couldn't help meself......

Initially they balanced the throttle boddies and then did a power run which indicated 177bhp from a totally standard engine (standard for a westfield type install before someone starts apart from receline sump and flywheel :D )

Being a bit dissapointed with this I asked them to check / re-map the managemet system, this showed that it was running rich at high revs and the power dropping off, after re-mapping etc it is now indicating 185 bhp @ about 6800rpm (soft cut is 7200/7300rpm) which is what I was expecting / hoping, Westfield claim 190 bhp but that will be for the engine with no CAT.

May be time to save for a replacement exhuast box :t-up:

LMFAO !!  :D  :D

You really do come out with some classics !!   Why on earth would looking at a car with a Duratec in it suddenly answer all my doubts about your weight claims ??  Eh ??

It's an engine, albeit one which weighs less than others.  But there's nothing special about the installation in a Westfield.  As far as I'm aware you still have a chassis, a gearbox, a differential, wheels, bodywork and a roll bar.  What is so radical about a Duratec installation in a Westfield chassis that makes it *sooooo* different to the countless other Westfields I've looked at ??  Please, I'm dying to know....

Your never know then, open your mind, educate yourself and try considering other possibilities before dismissing anything you know nothing about.

When you get back to blighty, come and see my installation, have a go, weigh it, do what you like with it anything to stop you criticising something you have no knowledge of    :D

What is LMFAO ???

Perhaps you could do us the courtesy of removing the blinkers from your eyes as well.

goodness me, I've been around Westfields and other se7ens long enough to know what's what.  I reserve the right to question anything I remain unconvinced about.  I don't believe I have ever criticised you or your car, just questioned some of the "facts" and claims that have been thrown about.

All you need to do is take your car to the same set of scales that Glen used and you can prove us all wrong once and for all.  Or perhaps not....

Oh, and answer the question about what's so radical about the Duratec install, there's a good lad  :t-up:

LMFAO = Laugh My F**king A*** Off
