Deleating SEX Icon

After some slightly dubious surfing I now have a Ikon that keeps poping up everytime I boot my computer.

I've deleated it & it keeps coming back so i traced the source to the windows file & tryed to deleat it but it says it's write protected.

How the oops, i said a naughty word! do i get rid of it ???

Andy :suspect:

P.S. As a seperate thing also related to my computer when ever I start my computer it always starts Windows Media Player which delays bootup by a couple of mins, any Ideas

A file being write protected shouldn't stop you deleting it, it'll just give you a different prompt. What OS are you using?

If it's NT / 2000 / XP Pro, make sure you're logged in as an account with Administrator rights. Then right click on the file, select properties, and turn of the 'write protected' check box.

Then try deleting it.

Not sure about the Media player thing. Is it in your Startup group?

There's lots of ways that this can be solved. My best advice is to do a google search for 'removing xxx' where xxx is the name of the sex icon you've had.

As for media player starting up. does it play anything or just open up?

Si It just opens the last file played, it does not play it unless you press the play button. :bangshead:

XP Home.

How do you log on as account with Administrator rights  ???

On XP Home you don't need to (that's why it wasn't in the list of OSs that you need to) :)

The Window that comes up says.

Cannot Deleat File : Access Denied

Make sure that the disk is not full or write protected & that the file is not currentley in use

Sounds like the program is running. Right click on the Task bar, and select 'Task manager'. Then select the Processes tab. Look in there for a process running with the same name as the file you're trying to delete. If it's running, select it and click 'End Process'.

Then try to delete the file again.
