The result of the referendum was 52% leave, 48% remain. If that could have been spun as an 8% margin of victory for leave, why wasn't it?

And at the risk of labouring the maths point, I'm pretty sure a healthy majority, on seeing a 48/52 result would agree that the difference was 4% when we are told that 52% voted leave and 48% remain. That speaks poorly for the level of maths, including mine  

And leave missed a simple maths trick for the entire 3 years since the referendum...

Four percentage points is not four percent. To get to 52 from 48 you need an uplift of circa 8%. 48*1.08=52 more or less. Spin it how you like... 😋
