I’ve decided to join in!

Hi,

Can you tell me a little of detail about the Westfield please. Mileage and location so of it’s the right one I can arrange for a viewing. I could also be interested in the Mustang as I’ve always fancied a bit of American Muscle.

Would you consider a deal on both, I’ve just had a policy mature and it’s burning a hole in my pocket and need to spend it before the wife does!

Andy

To be honest EBay is now so overrun with this guy I have stopped looking. It is on classic, kit cars, normal cars, vans and motorbikes. He must have some sort of software that does this automatically.

Hopefully the more people mention this the better as some poor sod will get taken in.

Another scam I read recently was a guy selling an SUV. Arranged for couple to meet him with £9k cash and they got beaten up and money stole. It was another cloned advert that they used.

Ebay are getting quicker, its been taken off again

Having spoken twice to their American call centre 'agents' I'm not convinced they understand the real issue and I can't be passed to the fraud team as they only deal with the agents via internal mail.

Thanks, just reported to eBay. One day they might actually use some Picture recognition software. They really are the Scammers dream site, some people have lost £10K plus on Motorhomes paid for on the promise of free delivery to the other end of the country. Shocking.

I looked about 3 days ago and it wasn't there + it's gone again now.  *Perhaps* eBay are reacting a bit quicker?

Hi everyone, was looking for a Quad bike on eBay today and seems I came across this same guy which lead me here after some thorough researching.

Advised me to send him ID etc and to pay a shipping company under the name cargo-express-solutions which also seems to be very sketchy/fake site.

He sent me a passport under the name Thomas Jager and an address located in 40 Carrer Quatre, Barcelona, Spain.

Thought I would post this here to help out anyone else who may be researching these details to see if he's legit or not.

He is NOT.

Hello... This scam is live right now...1st September 2020

I'm new to this but I think your scammer is back in operation selling a van (initially listed on ebay) - this time from Spain...again with a sob story...and insistence that it is paid for via a remote "shipping company". The dialogue is the same as your experiences. Posing as Thomas Jager. Dead dodgy. The listing was on ebay at a competitive price for all of 24 hours then de-listed. I don't know how many people he is stringing along for pre-payment but for sure it's not just me. He wont send a phone number...just emails. The 'shipping company'  is a dissolved UK off-the-shelf company with no credentials and a generic website anyone could knock together in an hour! Happy to follow threads of anyone else involved with this con artist ...anyone else negotiating on a van??

Thanks but as you'll read above. E-bay don't seem bothered and we can't do anything other than collectively keep reporting his ads to E-bay. I really hope you've not lost any money.
