Who introduced "Boris's Bikes" to London?

He took over the idea from a Mr K Livingstone after he won the election.

...and BoJo runs away and hides rather than debate - yeah, that’s just the characteristics we need as a leader in charge of our nation’s defence and when negotiating Brexit.

When did Sky first moot their debate program? I first heard of it over the weekend with the debate planned for tomorrow, and now deferred until 01 July.

I thought it seemed rushed and maybe Team Bojo wanted time to prepare. Here's hoping the 01 July debate will go ahead.

Another approach might be NOT to lay all your negotiating cards and tactics on the table for broadcasters and viewers because that gives the EU a heads-up early on.

Err... Horace? No not him he wrote poems. Perhaps it was Doris? Sorry can't remember. 😄

None of it really matters.

At the end of the day 160,000 of this countries elite are going to elect the next PM for the second time.

We just have to suck it up and prey!

I get to vote, never really thought I was part of the elite. Many thanks.

Trust me, I may get it right, or not.

I’ll let you know after I’ve done a couple of hustings and heard what emerges over the next few weeks.

I never knew I was in the elite but having checked my wallet and finding I do have the requisite £25 annual Conservative Party membership fee I could have joined.

Seriously though it is now too late to join and get a vote as IIRC you had to have 3 months membership.

With TM already having faced a leadership challenge last December it could have been predicted that a new challenge would arise fairly soon.

Only problem would be who to vote for.

Mrs May was coronated into the PM post in 2016 when Leadsom withdrew, so the party membership didn't get a vote then.

Jeremy Hunt has spoken out about Boris Johnson’s ‘tear-up’, saying his rival should be prepared to speak about it. ‘I think someone who wants to be prime minister should answer questions on everything,’ he told Sky News.

He says: "I don't think we should go into the politics of envy.

This may well be only one piece of confusion among many during this leadership election.

OK, Ballot Paper has arrived so it's decision time. Even got some nice Back Boris badges from Peter Bone and Bill Cash.

I know he's marmite, and a significant risk but it's Boris for me. Not sure I can support Jeremy since it was reported he deleted all his social media comments from 2016 to hide his Brexit views. (If Boris makes a mess I may have to remove this entry!)

Interesting proposals for senior posts by the EU:

Ms Lagarde for the ECB. No banking or economics background and found guilty of financial negligence in 2016.

Ursula von der Leyen, seen in Germany as their weakest Minister and under investigation against massive contracts awarded to consultants.

Josep Borrell, less than a year ago the Spanish Foreign Minister was fined £26k for insider trading.

Roll on Brexit.

Whilst formally trained in law she has done plenty of political economic roles, and been heading up the IMF for a while now. That's a pretty strong background :o
