Saturday 1st June, Peak District, Ashbourne 10am

Meet at Halfords, Ashbourne, DE6 1DU at 10.00 am that is 10am, HALF HOUR EARLIER THAN NORMAL for a quick gather together.

The reason being is that I am taking you 5 miles North to a place that is so beautiful it is always busy, aha but not first thing in the morning! You can have a brew and a chat there, they also serve bacon butties/breakfast if you are hungry. As the tourist crowds arrive we will be leaving.

 

After that it will be a wap around the beautiful lanes of the Dove Dale area before our second attempt at taking lunch in Willersley Castle (the four way temporary traffic lights that prevented us previously have now gone).

 

I believe the forecast for Saturday is hot sunshine  so who is joining us at 10am, did I say 10am? I thought I did, 10am.

That said, even if it was Sunday, I think my "permit of absence" would be revoked, as the bathroom refit is still going on and needs my attention

I'm up that way - on Sunday, though.  Taking part in the Historic Rally Car Register's Derbyshire Dales Drive, starting and finishing at the Buxton Pavilion.  Not in the XI -  a 400 mile day out for me demands something comfier!

I did say the traffic lights had gone but I noticed on the homeward journey that there was a warning of road works from 28th May!!! I hope the temporary traffic lights are not back in place now?
