Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 As Mark said, it's a Sport Turbo. They also have a different scuttle, with no screen fillet, it's integrated into the scuttle moulding. You can just about make out the central instrument binnacle, with the Vauxhall Corsa based instruments and switch gear. Quote
BugMan Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Quite like the gray/orange idea - not see anything like the different boot lid, thats a bit of a shame Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 A couple of pictures from a few years ago on the WSC site here. https://westfield-sportscars.co.uk/showroom-brochures/sport-cars-range/westfield-sport-turbo/ The Sport Turbo does occasionally sell in the UK, as far as I can see, but is principally sold in Europe and the Far East, into markets where homologation is required. It’s not sold in kit form. (It’s a complex build, with wiring way more complex than any of the kit Westfields). Its also the source of a n7mber Of parts that have filtered down to the rest of the range, like the Radtech radiator/intercooler package, the nose ducting for the same, the front and rear fixed anti roll bars etc. The scuttle and tub, sadly don’t seem to have filtered down; I always meant to ask, why can’t we get the Sport Turbo body for a regular build. But maybe they just don’t want to water down the dna of the “production Sport Turbo”. Incidentally, this was also the car that was the subject of the infamous Fifth Gear mauling from Jason Plato. Steve (sdh2903) Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 Yep there's a few bits on it that would be welcome. Boot lid. Scuttle. Bonnet release (assuming this as there's no visible latches?) Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 6, 2018 Posted June 6, 2018 The roof looked a bit better than the FW as well, and the side screens used to have a lot of extra sealing details that appear to have been dropped now the taller windscreen and side screens are used for the other cars. Now you mention it, the boot seems to have a remote release as well - there is a button on the dash for a boot! Quote
Stu Faulkner Posted June 6, 2018 Author Posted June 6, 2018 The rear doesn’t have a number plate recess either but that’s how the FW will be from now on. 1 Quote

Given all the issues with IVA test plate size, as opposed to real world plate sizes, that makes so much sense. 1 Quote

Thrustyjust Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Thats a weird roll bar on the car too. My thought on the colour is that its a yesterday colour . If they did it 5 years ago when Ford and Audi brought it out, would be more 'trendy' to sell. You dont see Scooby blue as much these days on production cars . So they need a colour thats new to sell, but most are metallics on cars these days, which doesnt help the choice. Quote
BugMan Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Just on the very rear, how likely is it that that boot molding would fit on our FW's and poss the scuttle? Cant imagine that the Sport Turbo chassis or rest of the panels would be very different, as the bonnet looks very much like the hinged FW version. Wife just said, hang on I can get some shopping in that boot, why did you not buy that version, got to love comments like that ain't ya Quote
MattV Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 If you do go with the grey @Stuart Faulkner - Shows & Events Coordinator Then at least you’ll be ok for matching footwear again..... 1 Quote
