Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 I see all the fantastic scenery in these and others photos and always have this strong urge to move to the Highlands. How thoughtful of you to then provide some images so disturbing I’ll forget all about the natural scenery while I try and get them out of my mind; now where’s that brain bleach! 1 Quote
David-hrv Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 It's ok Dave. The scenery is here all year round. The «issues» only happen once a year when a certain person from Englandshire comes to visit us and causes mild havoc and lots of fun in his yellow machine, together with whoever wishes to join him (I suppose that includes me!). We have the remainder of the year to recover! So it's safe to move up to the Highlands (at least for 50 weeks of the year). 2 4 Quote
Gary Taylor Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Just to round off our stay on orkney had a convivial evening of campfire, cook out and laughter along with stunning views , piece and quiet and then as tommorow we start south played a Scottish folk tune ( slightly modified) westying Home with a song in the air lol .... 3 Quote

Gary Taylor Posted June 3, 2018 Author Posted June 3, 2018 Haha the mankini can only be seen in person on the last night ..... in truth we have been sunburnt and here on orkney you can be in a t shirt and 10 minutes later in thermals go round the corner and be stripping off again and I wouldn’t change it one bit Quote

Gary Taylor Posted June 4, 2018 Author Posted June 4, 2018 Today we caught the 7.45 ferry back to the mainland saying goodbye to orkney and it’s stunning people and places heading west again we fuelled up at Thurso before stopping at an old wrecked fishing boat, moin house, smoo cave and Durness From here we headed south ish visiting an old castle and onto Ullapool for chips and fuel then it was east ish to corrieasoch gorge ( I know the spelling is wrong) and onto strathpeffer where we are booked into the most wonderful bed n breakfast you could imagine, it truly is regal, safe to say Geoffrey surpassed himself finding this one and poor Trina had her mouth open as she was shown round 1 Quote
