Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Did someone mention Keeley Donovan............ Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 Don't encourage them @marcusb, they are starting to get giddy now and we haven't even turned a wheel, they will be a nightmare tomorrow . I will be trying to tell them about my petrol tank and they will be giggling like naughty school boys about weather girls. What makes it worse is that I am down on female numbers tomorrow so I can't even get them back. I have put plan B in to place as the weather looks like it may be less than perfect first off. I have cut out the high ground bit over Buxton, where it always rains, even on a sunny day. 1 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 As long as there are no fords, like the one @IanK (Bagpuss) found for us to cross on the way back from GBS; I should have known it was coming after he was so disappointed to miss it on the way out 1 Quote

I'm not coming out to play as I'm getting wet at my daughter's swimming party at Waterworld 1 1 Quote
Chris Emm Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Sorry folks 'it's a No from Mo'. Have a good 'un. Stay dry & don't get blown off course. Cheers 2 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 See what it is like in the morning. I am happy to go later/in a tin top/cancel, but I am daft enough to simply.....go, also. One thing is for sure, I am going to my new cafe and eating homemade cake, whilst photographing my cuddly toy Bagpuss, which will be loads of fun regardless. This is the Bagpuss that I get to keep for another week since @IanK (Bagpuss) is otherwise occupied, yes, yes. 1 Quote
AndrewBClarke Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Leaving here at 7.30 so will have to hope weather gets better during the day! Certainly no tin top or chickening out! 1 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted October 21, 2017 Author Posted October 21, 2017 Righty ho @AndrewBClarke it's definitely ON then. Roof at the ready, better get up early just in case, it takes us 20 minutes to get the thing on . If you need shelter the cafe is open in Marks and Spencer. Toilets are right at the back of the shop. 1 Quote
stephenh Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Have a good one. Sorry I can't join you, in the XI, but definitely next year. 1 Quote
AndrewBClarke Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Thank you Julie & Glen for another well organised lovely day out. Fantastic cake stop followed by another stop for soup and main course. Proves that you can still have fun in the rain with a soft top car! 2 Quote
Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative Posted October 22, 2017 Author Posted October 22, 2017 Game on @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary. The game is who can get a photograph of Bagpuss with @IanK (Bagpuss) car, extra points if Ian is also in the photograph. In the absence of Ian, I thought it only right to play the game with you. So while Dave was busy with Glen helping an elderly couple change their flat tyre I was sneaking around inside Dave's car, and the Bagpuss followed me, GAME ON. 2 Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Hmmm, I Thought it had gone suspiciously quiet! Quote
Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club SecretaryIs a granny magnet He didn't change mine last weekend Just told me that 'I'm screwed' I hope he's not rolled the same line out today ? Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 Hey, I offered you an airline and a jack! Anyway, without you to break down, we needed someone else to help! (Too soon? ) What amazed me, were all the people stood around the elderly couple offering “helpful” advice. I’d like to think if that had been my grandad/grandma, someone would have actually got down on their knees and helped, rather than just standing there, telling them what to do. (Which the elderly gentleman seemed quite well aware of!) 1 Quote
