Terryathome Posted August 22, 2017 Author Posted August 22, 2017 From Gap to Nantua for a well earned 2 day stop overlooking the lake with balcony. Might be a bit expensive so cost of beers might put @marcusb into a tissy fit. Serves him right for them cheap pizza last night tight Yorkshire git. Gap hotel. Quote

Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 A tunnel was closed on our planned route which forced us up a mountain alongside de lac du bourget , we found a cafe at the top and what a view - 3 Quote
Terryathome Posted August 22, 2017 Author Posted August 22, 2017 Yes good view. Seems like we come up smelling of roses every time. Mind you that bog was le phew. 1 Quote
Terryathome Posted August 23, 2017 Author Posted August 23, 2017 Day ?? Aldi supermarket just behind hotel, some of wscc members from our last holidays will know these did come in handy for picking up a mid day snack on routes. Anyway the restaurant here is pricey circa €50 plus so we gave it a miss and had a picnic by the lake. Had a quick walk around where we're stopping and found some cafe and restaurants. Might walk down and see is we can not get a continental breakfast, missing good English. Drive round the lake is on the cards as can see on Google another town at the other end of the lake. @marcusb had to change rooms yesterday as wasps seen to be getting in his room. Found 2 in ours this morning, must have got in when I had the window open. Quote
Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 Breakfast for me and @nakkib by the lake Nontua this morning , on a bench and what a view, @Terryathome had a coffee in the hotel and a moth landed in it so he decided to go for a walk , spotted a nice picturesque church and almost walked in on a funeral, can't take him anywhere lol 3 Quote
