Salaries lower than clean league, but who wouldn't pay to watch football played by 22 men on speed? Even better, the refs pass out the drugs before game time, but make it "unlucky dip" where one player on each team gets a downer - rotten luck if it's the goalie or your best striker. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it will never happen but I can dream... It gets my vote Scott. Quote
Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Isn't there a YouTube club of a game set up like that; it may be alcohol or it may be (legal in whatever country it is) drugs, but the entire teams are out of their tree's trying to play the game. Seem to remember it was the first football match I've enjoyed watching! Quote

DonPeffers Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 More on football money stories. http://www.sportbible.com/football/transfers-alex-oxlade-chamberlains-wages-at-liverpool-have-been-revealed-20170830 states Arsenal footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has turned down a new Arsenal contract at £180,000 per week to move to Liverpool F. C. where the wages will be £125,000 per week so clearly more than money involved here. The position he plays in and Champions League football have taken precedence over money. Only losing £33k a week after tax so not too bad. Quote

Terry Everall Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 Well you might not believe it but back when Leeds United had a good team as a young lad of 18 I used to drink in the Woodman pub, Halton, Leeds It was a small pub and we often drank with Billy Bremner, Jack Charlton, Norman Hunter and Mick O'Grady who all lived locally in "normal " houses Quote
Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 About 8 years ago, I was part of the management team that altered the East Stand at Leeds United. I had never worked with people before who had such a hatred for a building just because of what it was. Quote
