stephenh Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Your forgetting about the Avon ZZS option Stephen You're right Terry, but I know nothing about the ZZS, seems to be a new tyre? What sort of compound is it? Is it as sticky as the softest 888? Or softer? No doubt someone will be comparing them "side by side" soon, but possibly not soon enough for Speed Series competitors to get tyres for the start of this season? Quote
AdamR Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 It's a pretty hard compound apparently, I have some details which I'll dig out... Edit: The compound is A84 (been updated on the Avon site now: http://www.avonmotorsport.com/road-legal/performance/zzs) which is apparently close to the A29 from this list: http://www.avonmotorsport.com/resource-centre/compounds Quote

Is that info from Avon? Quote
phelpsa Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 Yes (via Barny / BCF). Useful info, cheers 1 Quote

phelpsa Posted February 24, 2016 Posted February 24, 2016 I'm sure that someone will say that there is no need to use more rubber. I'm going to say it! You'll probably find that with these harder compounds you'll get heat into the narrower sizes quicker. Quote
