Terry Everall
I now have a verbal statement from Avon which I have forward to Nick Algar and the speed series committee to look at as well as the original BMTR comments
Lawrie
As for facts, the MSA have only recently made it clear that they do not consider List 1C tyres road legal (although this year as List 1B they think they are). I have still to see this in writing. This is a clear breach of Stability of Regulations 2.5.2. All Specialist Committees must note that any new Sporting rule should normally be approved by the M.S.C. at least 6 months before it comes into force and any new Technical rule at least 12 months before it comes into force. New or amended regulations can only come into force on the 1st January in any year. The only exception is in respect of urgent safety.............. Terry Everall
Lawrie The MSA did highlight some 1B tyres at the start of 2015 to suggest that they were likely to be removed for 2016

Paul Morcom
Just got my 2016 MSA Blue Book and fairly confusing with red annotation. But List 1B includes the Avon ZZR (in black print, not annotated in red). But List 1C also includes the Avon ZZR. I think it is probably an MSA mis-print and the ZZR should have been annotated in red in List 1B i.e. Pre 1990 registered cars are allowed to use them in MSA Road-going classes. Confused from the Cotswolds! I agree Windy - what a mess.
Nick Algar - Competition Secretary
ok can someone explain to me what the statement at the bottom of the msa mag on page 12 means regarding 1c tyres :(in plain English for dim wit me Right, I have had verbal clarification and it does not effect us in the way that we have written our regs. You will still be able to use 1C in the classes that we specify them. As to the Age question on 1C ZZR's it may well be easier if we just rule running them out for WSCC just to level the playing field as much as possible.

windy
Better to create a class for "Historic Westfields" to allow use of these tyres I'd have thought?
