Terry Everall Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 As I understand it if you run in a non road going class like modified production you will need a logbook Also you will need full FHR (i.e. Hans device) and if over 2 litres a full cage
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 John I think that would be a good outcome - even if only a transition arrangement. In any case I think that at every event I have done this year I have been in a Westfield only class which suits me fine. However if we were in a non road going class on the day (even if just Westfields) would the cars then need an MSA log book? David No because they are road legal
Gerry H Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 9.1.7. All cars competing in Hill Climbs or Sprints must be presented for scrutineering with a valid Competition Car Log Book/Vehicle Passport or an MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity Document unless the car is currently licensed for use on the public highway and is competing in a road legal condition or is currently used in circuit racing and is entered in an event on an occasional basis only. The onus of proof rests with the competitor.
Terry Everall Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 It would not be competing in a road legal condition as its in a non road legal class( i.e. mod prods)
Marto303 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Surely could run in road legal condition in non road goin class ?
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Surely could run in road legal condition in non road goin class ? Exactly. List 1C tyres are still road legal and presumably your car would be taxed, MOTd and insured
Terry Everall Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 But as far as some scrutineers are concerned you must comply with the class you enter on the day which would be a non road going class
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 But as far as some scrutineers are concerned you must comely with the class you enter on the day which would be a non road going class Nope - its modified production. Doesn't mean they cant be road going 1
Marto303 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Nope - its modified production. Doesn't mean they cant be road goingI agree JohnIf you present your car in a road going condition ie MOT, Taxed and Insured then a DVLA V5 log book is fine. If you present your road registered car in a non road going condition then you need an MSA log book. Both ways you can enter mod prod class
woodman Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Blyton scrut insisted that I needed a log book for class 1
XTR2Turbo Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Blyton scrut insisted that I needed a log book for class But were you on slicks so not road legal?
Marto303 Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Blyton scrut insisted that I needed a log book for class Was your car in road legal condition Stu, lights, horn, MOT, Tax, Insurance and road legal tyres ?
John Loudon - Sponsorship Liaison Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Watch this space! Watching
Garry Bunn - Derby & Notts Joint AO Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 I have run in Mod Prod with the car road legal on 1B tyres and later in the day put slicks on to try and had to get a qualified Scrutineer (they don't all do them) fill out a log book request......it was at Aintree if I remember correctly.
