And an angle grinder... always good reducing the really stubborn stuff to sparks. Could make an 80s rock video at the same time...

Got TWO angle grinders, one for each hand naturally, will that do? Oh, and an electric Impact gun. A kettle too. A working man's gotta have his brews.

when i dismantled my mazda i found the most useful tool was a small 12 inch breaker bar for things like sperating the diff from the prop and stuff like that but i dismantled everything whilst it was still on the car and sold most of the car at the same time. i also have a 3foot breaker bar for the hub nuts oh and some scaffold tube to put on the end of the breaker bar lol

If you get stuck on the hub nuts,  I have a trick that worked wonders for me :d

Sorry was on the phone so would have been a nightmare to type out!

The biggest problem I found was stopping the axle from rotating with the car in the air, and with the car on the floor with one wheel off, the car still moving forward!

To overcome this, I had all four wheels on the ground, handbrake on and all four wheels chocked. Car in gear and brake pedal pressed hard!

On my donor wheels, the centre cap on the wheel comes out so you can get to the hub nut. This requires the use of an extension bar an I found that the torque from the breaker bar was not being applied effectively as the socket etc tried to climb off the nut.

To overcome this, put a normal scissor jack underneath where the knuckle of the breaker bar meets the extension piece. This keeps the socket square on the nut and the torque from the breaker bar is applied effectively.

I was trying all number of different methods until this and they were a piece of cake to undo.

Even without the wheel on, I think this would work with the other 3 wheels on the ground. (as an extension bar is needed to prevent having to angle the breaker bar).

Or an impact gun will no doubt make it a piece of cake

Lol all you guys should have bought an electric Impact gun. I bought one to break my Focus RS (which left the garage today) and it's proven an invaluable investment. It whizzes hub nuts off with the car in the air in a couple of seconds.
