  1. On the way to Stoneleigh yesterday! Binding front left caliper. Auto Aid wanted to send us back to Glasgow. B&B where we are staying said that one of their guests was going to the show and had a car full of tools and was happy to help, so Auto Aid transported us there. Working by cellphone torchlight we got it sorted - the Westie will go to the ball (and hopefully get back to Glasgow for a brake strip down)!

  2. I just wanted to thank everyone I met today at Stoneleigh. I normally just walk around as I don’t know that many people but today I barely left the Westfield area. As soon as I pulled up people where talking to me and I spoke with so many others. I really loved today, so I just want to thank everyone I spoke with today for making it a brilliant day.

  6. Hello from Cognac France, My name is Jean-Pierre, I live near Cognac and have two Westfield : the first one is a 1986 Westfield Seven the other one is a 1987 Westfield Seven SE. Both are Crossflow powered. I bought them from a dealer in UK, but had no history at all, and I hope I will find some help on the forum. Both cars now French registered were very well finished and maintained. I am not familiar with forums, so I hope I didn't fail introducing me.

  8. Teesside.. Stockton.. Dicky dark.. 4am alarm goes off. Cars fuelled and ready to go... Just to pick my son up and away I go.. Aeroscreen requires helmet use and headphones... Guess who forgot one of them.. Yup.. Lol a one way communication day. 🙄 A local garage saves the day when we get to Stoneleigh. Met up with 5 chaps including Geoff Buttercup at Beverley Toby carvery for breakfast 7.15am.. Finally got there after 2hrs drive south over the glorious North York Moors early doors! Wet roads, looming rain, - 1 and 2 frozen nutters out for enjoyment? Lol After leaving Toby Carvery I got separated from the group, sat nav by default is set to miss tolled roads, we were going over Humber Bridge... Toll so guess who blindly followed the crap nav? Hand up.. Me - bahhh. Great roads though.! Finally caught up after the group waited graciously for us... "sheepish" Tbh I hadn't a clue where we were going. Got separated AGAIN.. b******* it... I text Geoff that I'll see you there... Show was smaller than I remember... But still OK. Big thanks to the Westy staff for minding my crash helmets.. Appreciate your help. So what goodies bought... New track rod ends and 2 front ball joints.. Lol Oh and finally the 2 plastic inserts for the steering column... Finally home though after a long day... 4am - 9pm... 🤪

  9. Did anybody count how many cars we had this year couldn't see at the front? Think the convoy went well (apart from the Kenilworth road closure), I don't think we lost anybody, must be a first🤣🤣🤣

  12. Well after no luck getting a second hand carpet set I decided to dye my old tired grey ones, using carpet dye and leather/ vinyl dye for the arm rests and crash pad and I’m pretty happy with the results, just the dash left to do.

  25. I'm just about to set off, Martin! A bitter/sweet moment, the car left my home on a small car transporter less than half an hour ago. No more will I have people coming up to me in car parks and filling stations saying Wow, that looks fun, what is it? Then again, the money is in the bank, and I can now pay back the money which I "borrowed" from my pension funds to buy my Jaguar XKR!!
