  3. Out for a wee run today on a road I don’t go on that often. That will change. Perfect for the Westy. Anybody recognise it? Have to say only stopped when the views were good. Kept going on the twistys!

  4. That’s because in Lincolnshire you are miles away from anything. Everything is at least 30 minutes away!

  6. Well done to the two people who beat me! Every year the competition gets less by one as the winner can’t enter again so by logic I will eventually win it! Every mile brings a smile so everyone is a winner really. Thanks @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AOfor organising it.

  7. All done ,I never realised it would be that easy ,I took the rubber tube off the top of the rad filled via the header tank untill it came out ,put the bung back topped the coolant up to half way on the bottle and squeezed the hoses a few times . Is that it ? Do I just run it up to temp for a while now and check for leaks .

  10. Thank you to everyone that responded to my post, even if it wasn't with the correct answer , but I hope you are all enjoying your other activities. Here is a little look at our day if you are interested. I reckon I could just about fit 10 more Westfields in this car park, if we all breathe in Not so sure about on this sofa though, you lot are far too fat and this fire had my name on it It was decent enough to sit outside even So I did! Next we went in search of cake And found it. Do you like chocolate orange? well then you would definitely like this cake Keeping with the orange theme, we went in search of colourful trees Love and hugs to everyone and hope to see you all soon

  11. Woodford lightweight covered trailer for sale. Bed size 12ft x 6ft 1 inch. Internal tyre rack, all new tyres, manual winch, extra long ramps, locking hitch. Purpose made box section frame and canvas cover. Perfect size for any Westfield I have had numerous trailers and this is by far the lightest, nicest to tow and move trailer that I have owned. Ignore all the cr@p on the web about single axle trailers being unsafe in the case of a blow out and launching you into the nearest ditch. I recently had a blow out and didn't even know until I spotted other cars flashing me! (hence the new tyres) Priced to sell quickly at £1750 ono (space needed) John O797I 576848 / jloudon @ usa.net Located South Warwickshire

  13. Oooh! Wow. I never usually win anything. Thanks to my fellow Lincolnshire members, and @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO for arranging the meets which in large part have contributed to the mileage. Can’t wait to get back on the road and put more miles on!

  14. Hi Simon I have been using a AP Clutch Cover and Plate that the Caterham guys recommend for engines up to about 220HP and 1800cc so moor torque. Not had any issues in the 6 years or so its been fitted. Think the numbers are 72603R (cover) and 72602R (plate). My memory is a little vague now but I am sure when I bought them i got the from Redline components Email: sales@redlinecomponents.co.uk Phone: +44 (0) 1883 346515 I am sure when I looked into it further they were actually ford fit parts. This is amusing you have a standard 1400 or 1600 size and bolt configuration type flywheel and not one designed for a 71/2" Clutch Ian

  16. Hello Community, my name is Udo and I leave near Cologne in an area called "Bergisches Land". Recently sold my Lotus Elise, that I had for ten years and purchased a "built" version of Westfield SEIV FW through CCK in Germany in August. So far I was able to drive allmost 3 months with great joy, including a long weekend in the Dolomites. The car is great fun and I am enjoying every meter and hour, I am able to spend with it. As the Westfield scene is fairly small here I was thinking to look for forum membership in the home of kit car scene, which UK definately is. The car is equipped with the 2l Zetec and provides great fun, allthough some minor tweaks with gearbox oil leak and some water ingress during rain session in the Dolomites, but the winter is long and the will to improve as well. Did spent time already with build reviews here and liked the way, members help each other. I hope I will make it to UK once for some local events, but available time is always a factor. Regards, Udo

  17. You have to be a Land Rover nut, but the North coast 500 in a day is impressive (In series 1 land rovers!) I struggle to do just 300 a day in mine... If you like that one - have a look at his Monte Carlo or bust vids (even if only for the soundtrack).

  18. Yep. Run it and keep checking all is well. The thermostat won't have allowed any water passed it, cold. So you may get some more water in as you progress. Feel the hoses as it warms up to give you an ideal where the waters getting to etc.

  19. I know you said not a Beemer but a z4 3.0 would tick your requirements. That 3.0 na straight 6 is a peach and bomb proof if your going to compete. Parts and maintenance would be much cheaper than the porker.

  20. I think too fragile for the age/wear of the car to be used for competition, I can forsee big running costs with one of those. But has certainly been on my dream list for a long while. I remember seeing a red one driving through the paddocks at a karting event when I was a kid, I chased it on my bike as I thought it was my childhood dream car, a Dodge Viper!

  22. Well it happened! The rebooted Bristol and Bath area meet started again yesterday with a fine gathering (Thanks Rob and Steve) at The Riverside Inn, Saltford. Introductions and car histories were discussed as well as plans for the winter upgrades. Still working regular meet day/night and Xmas drinks. Any plans for shows and track days welcome too? More to follow regards chris

  23. Ever tried a photo of the rear view so you can see all the leaves being scattered. My rear view mirror always shows a beautiful shot if I only I could capture it?

  25. I'm enjoying my RX-8 at the moment... makes an S2000 seem like a diesel tongue firmly in cheek before anyone in a low revving Honda bites Joking aside, I've found it a revelation to drive given how a Westfield can distort the view of 'normal' drives. I'm looking forward to the first track day next week to give the beeps a full exploration. You also get the opportunity to contribute to the nation's finances in a considerable manner every 12 months! Bonus!
