  1. HOHOHOHOH. this is hilarious. I beleave in Karma from today on. I´m a 3mobile customer, as my girlfriend is. We have an unlimited data plan, and Till now, we only hat 30 of those gigs to be usable as a hotspot (aside of netflix that we could use it as much as we wanted) therfore... we had to manage very carefully what we was doing with this 30 gig each. (And that was the main reason of buying aditional data plans from thrid parties...). Well, just gone to the 3 mobile app to check how many gigs had remaining as I´ve been browsing quite a lot this last days... and a small message is told me to update the app. I´ve done it, and my data cap for hotspot has dissapeard!! Called to three mobile to understand what that meant... and they have kindly told me that since 1st of october, All can you eat customers don´t have hotspot data cap. Happy days. I don´t need a router after all!!!! THANKS EE!!! you saved me A LOT OF MONEY

  2. Can't go wrong with an MX-5! A Mk3 with a remap and a set of cams is a cracking daily driver, had one for a few years. Now back in a Mk1: Other RWD, roofless, non-turbo cars also suitable

  5. Here's mine: Octavia VRS - 220bph, 38mpg on a run, 4 ecu/suspension modes, built in satnav, massive boot, interior a bit plasticy, but there you go - the development cash has been spent on the engine and the suspension. I might have a play with the ecu when it's out of warranty, but to be honest it's pretty good as it is. Gary

  6. I've got an M135i, which I've had for 5 years now. I weekly commute, so it doesn't get driven much during the week, but gets a fair run out at the weekend. My average is 32mpg, though on a decent motorway run I can get 37mpg out of it. It's also great fun and seriously fast, though only in summer - in winter it just doesn't have the traction to make the most of the power! I've had it for so long because I honestly can't think what I might want to replace it with, and definitely can't afford anything faster. The only real downside is that it can't tow the Westfield.

  7. Here's one that will excite! .. or maybe not. An eleven year old Honda CRV. As I'm now retired it's not exactly a daily.. it does a weekly shop and tows to trackdays. It's a cracking tow car, comfortable, and economical.. it does all I need.

  9. This is my daily And believe it or not, even with a supercharged V8, on a steady run I can easily get above your 30mpg criteria. I love it. It’s a running joke between all my car friends how I change cars so often, but I’ve had this a year and no plans to change it. Can only see me doing so when an SVR comes into budget They sound great, go very well, look nice roof up or down, nice inside, dealer support is good, some good specialists out there to keep costs down.

  10. Hi, As started here, I'm looking for an old school Westfield. So we're talking about a good' old' no frills prelit / SE, maybe early SEw/SEiw I'm located in france, and importing a car is a bit of a challenge, hence some of the specs/paperwork are mandatory for registering as an oldtimer. Needed specifications : 1989 or earlier registered as a westfield, on a Q plate (age-related plate does not, alas, work for this mandatory requirement). Flared / clamshell wings. Period-related powertrain. (crossflow being most probable engine) Twin carbs. Analog clocks. (Lots of). Running. (needs to make it home) Things I would like Located rather in southern parts of the country would help. Green or any dark color would be nice. I like Minilite-looking or steel rims. 5 speed gearbox would be fitting. Benchy flatty seats would make cramming my 6' (all legs) less a challenge. Sidescreens and wet weather gear would be a plus, I hear rain happens. No holes for letting air filters through the bonnet. I tend to prefer GRP over shiny alloy for the bodywork. If you are short on nightmare material I can elaborate on the legal requirements. Thanks a lot !

  13. sshh, whisper, the weather forecast is good for all weekend, sshh, don't tell mummy nature because then she might change it. There is a plan, so I might as well share it with you. Leave Sainsburys at 10.30am and get to Peak Rail to watch the steam train arrive. It will be coming towards us slowly so we will get the best view of it, there is a car park and toilets right on the lineside, so it should be an enjoyable experience. It is only a very short hop from Sainsburys so don't worry about getting hats, blankets and hot water bottles in the right place at this stage. Realistically by the time we have toileted and tucked ourselves in, it will probably be 11.30am when we leave Peak Rail. The next part of the journey is going to take us on a nice scenic road, indirectly to The Millstone Country Inn, Hathersage, S32 1DA, where we will have lunch. There is a carvery plus the main menu to choose from. I will be booking a table for 1pm to give us plenty of time for a little tyre kick in the car park and to take in the view from there too. The rest of the day is open to options, either leave us here or I can shuffle along to a suitable calorie laden cafe. I hope to book the table at the pub the day before we go, so I need to know the numbers please. Cheers, Julie

  15. If were into towcars, this is our old Volvo dragging the Westie to IVA . Not a 'great' experience. Bit like driving like a grandad on the roads, with allow intergalatic space to get out of busy roundabouts and sticking to 75 on the motorways Replaced by this one last year. But not fitted a towbar on this one. Volvo wanted £900 ............. so just didnt bother.

  17. Currently in a 2017 golf gti. Came from a fiesta st3. Sorry no pic as am away at the min. The fiesta is a fantastic little thing. Fun nippy. Very chuckable and easily did 40+ to the gallon on a run. Being an st3 had all the toys you could want. Downsides. The stereo was a bit fiddly to use and the ride was on the firm side. The golf is very competent in all departments. The size makes it a bit more practical if your using the back seats. Ride is better. Slightly more thirsty (But not by much). However the extra size is noticeable along with the weight when on the twisties. The biggest thing for me is that it's just not fun to drive. Very very competent but not fun. The golf goes back off lease in the new year and have been looking at the bmw 135i and also 335i as potential replacements so interesting to hear the above comments. Have even been looking at getting another fiesta.....

  18. Well. Got a Written confirmation that my order is canceled with no expenses, and the confirmation that they did had a discriminatory policy referring to deliveries of goods, and that unfortunately isn't the first time that happens. Apparently this was corrected at the beginning of this year, and the T&C are the ones I got Via mail... apparently is the first time that happens in crewe store since the update. Just had a call of the shop manager sending apologies and promising me that "was a true misunderstanding of their retail team that didn't had the policy updated bla bla bla bla, please we understand the trouble and how you felt but we are confident that i you rely on us again we will make it up with an outstanding service" In that point i couldn't stop laughing. Its awesome, in this sensible times, what a threat of legal action for discrimination can do. If you are curious, the full conversation is in tweeter (of course not the private refund information)

  22. @Jim cunliffe was there this Monday and I know a few other Lancashire members have been to track days there @AdamR @paul gibney @Steve (stevel) - Lancashire AO. Looks a great handling circuit for our cars, definitely better than Curborough for a track day. I'm hoping to go on the November date - Monday 19th ( / dependent ) be great to get a few of us there.

  23. Personally speaking i agree with GaryH. At the moment whilst im in tinkering mode i check the classified everyday and ebay. Looking at your post i dont think the bits are expensive but IMHO on eBay you have to put the postage prior to listing, maybe that has an effect. Ive been waiting for 2 days from a member to get a postage rate so i can decide if i will buy the item they came to me to sell after a query i posted on the start line.

  24. You are probably pulling 60 % round the edge of the fan and 40% through the radiator currently.

  26. All 3 cylinders of 60 horses. Its a brilliant car. Dont use a daily as cycle everyday, but buzzing about in it fun. Oh, damn, need to pay the road VED at the end of the month............. £20............ compensates for the Westfields cost.

  27. My daily clocks up a lot of local mileage so needs to be both small and economical. 1.2 litres and 84bhp is plenty for my needs. But i do also have these for the weekends though in addition to the Westfield.

  29. +1 for coolex . speak to Alistair he's really helpful he welded mounting brackets on mine I only had to tell him what make and model the fan was I was so pleased with there service I called them again when the radiator on the V16 Cummings generator (which is about 6ft x6ft ) needed removing and rebuilding and once again they came up trumps

  30. Proper exhaust that for track days too Mine now on its 2nd year annual service. Gearbox, engine and diff oil. Bleed clutch and brakes , topped battery up as low ( daft place with heat to stick a battery behind the rad !!) Changing the gearbox oil from Comma ( silkolene) to Valvoline GL4 has been a revelation for shifting . Also put fully syn Fuchs GL5 in the Mazda diff and it all runs sweeter.
