  1. It is the same with many sportsmen and women who are diva's. look at the difference between Rugby players and footballers, they seem to be worlds apart behaviour wise. As for GM, what I love is that he is like the children we all were, who gets really uncontrollably excited over "adventures". The fact he may well die is something as kids we never thought of and neither does he really. Where he could walk away from normal work, he still gets a buzz fixing trucks. I don't find him wearing, I find him refreshing

  3. LAMB IN A BAP...! As it's a special year and it's appropriate to formally recognise the people who organise and run the show (give Tolf a break from the BBQ basically), our traditional post AGM meal will be a fully catered affair this year! Most will be familiar with the format and will probably have sampled some of the food in years past, as we are delighted to announce that the Farmers Fayre Hog Roast chaps from the show-ground are going to put on a whole Lamb for us This will be outside the Marquee directly after the AGM. Of course you are welcome to bring your own food if you'd prefer another option and we can fire up the WSCC BBQ as required for the vegetarian option. There will also be green and Greek salads, coleslaw and potato salad. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks but beer and soft drinks in limited quantities will be provided as usual. For clarity, this is open to invited guests, the organisers and the volunteers. It is not open to mates or non-club members unless by prior arrangement. In order to "qualify", you'll need to make yourselves known to the organising team and if poss, wear your volunteer TeeShirt/show your volunteer wrist band as this will help the caterers identify us and feed us So there you go, please make every effort to attend the AGM and come and join your fellow members for a Lamb bap after.

  5. I ordered a set of these number plates for my tin top http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRESSED-METAL-RAISED-EMBOSSED-CAR-REGISTRATION-NUMBER-PLATES-REG-PLATE-GB-LOGO-/272177953258?hash=item3f5f11f9ea:g:kV4AAOSwZ8ZW7Xon Now they have arrived I'm questioning myself as to if they are actually legal. They have BSAU145D on them together with the companies details, but I'm still not sure, so I thought I would ask the collective for your opinion? Cheers

  7. I can't remember anything in the MOT manual to say that there is a problem , the picture they show looks fine , I wouldn't have a problem with testing a car with them on , the font sizing and spacing appears substantially similar to the prescribed one , testers aren't required to physically measure the characters or their spacings and sizings given in the mot manual are for guidance only . I can't remember any mention about plate material , so yes metal are fine . However what construction and usage rulings which the police apply may be different although I have had a few police officers ask my advice before with regards to plates as most of them haven't got a clue ( yes some of my family are in the force so I know first hand as I know a few police officers )

  8. Your a tad late on the Armstrong thing... They where bought by Tenneco Walker (Monroe) back on 1989. Your comments about buying products from a know source is more relevant now than ever. My other addiction is a 1989 VW camper. Some of the parts are stupid crazy cheep and even though the original part has lasted over 25 years the replacement cheapy lasts 2 minutes. In an my industry things are not what they appear either. Mahl who made a lot of the o.e stuff for vw don't make dampers, you can buy dampers with their brand on. KYB is the largest shock absorber manufacturer in the world (I believe) but much of the low volume stuff in their catalog is made by 3rd parties. And then there are is Fabi Bilstien which is not Bilstien dampers or a side division. Its not part of the thyssen krupp group at all. In the last few years a lot of people are turning away from the ebay parts, and returning to specialist retailers because they can trust the products they sell.

  9. Cheers for all the feedback, all - After reading a ton of different reviews, I went full circle and took a punt on a Go Pro with an external mic in the end. Will try to get it set up and get some footage on the way to the Coleford Car Carnival next week, and post some up here if anyone's interested. Ta! James

  10. You'll want one that folds up nicely. Some of the ones on ebay look a bit awkward in that respect. Also look for a load leveller

  11. The irony, Mart, is that GM is NOT normal. He is autistic to a degree I believe, and that probably means he could not be a camera puppet if he tried. He's just Guy. Personally I find him very wearing but I have to acknowledge his guts and enthusiasm.

  13. I bought a Garmin virb elite which I'm very happy with. I chose it over a go pro as it has GPS and Accelerometer in built unlike the go pro. Which makes adding widgets to your videos for speed and track position really simple. Plus has a remote or you can use your phone over Wi-Fi. Here's a link to one of my videos
