Another vote for Coolex by the way, dispatched same day , good price, and the difference in cooling clear from the 'drive around' temperatures. I went for their 70mm core . Don't know what my original came from but it was a substantial bit of copper and brass that barely fitted in the nose cone!

the R1Rs are used widley (ive got them on mine) the issue is that due to some Euro-ruling they're now being phased out. I think the T1Rs are Toyo's replacement model, but the tread pattern is a lot more like a conventional car's road tyre. I can't comment on the T1R in the real world but I'm sure someone on here will have experience of them. Search this forum for T1R and or R1R as there are lots of historical posts regarding them

Awww... I quite enjoy the pointless speculation, jumping to conclusions, nagging the CompSec for info he hasn't got yet, and complaining when answers don't come quick enough or someone's bought stuff before the final rules are out. You're no fun any more.

£140 for a set of 4 T1Rs is quite persuasive too. Yes of course RRRs or their successors at £100 a corner will be inherently better round the corner (if it's warm and dry) but the saving is £200 for a trackday and some instruction too 'free of charge'.

Absolutely nothing wrong with T1Rs. Good grip wet or dry and will last for a long time. Yes they won't provide the grip of a trackday type tyre in the warm and dry but if your... ...then T1Rs will be great You will not really notice the lack of a servo. The Westfield is so light compared to a tintop, acceleartion, cornering and stopping is so much easier. Have fun (and be careful).
