  1. If the government issued the number plates (stamped into steel) direct to the owner and not the dealer, it would prevent the issue in the first place and stop number plate cloning as well. Many other countries do it successfully but hey, that makes sense so we’d better not do that.

  3. That's a very fine margin, surprised if standard plates are that accurate.

  5. It’s our regular meet this Thursday, usual time and place, the Golden Pheasant, Plumley, around 7pm if eating, else around 7.30pm. Lets hope the weather holds and we can start seeing some Westfields again after the long winter!

  6. That's what worries me, it's just another tax scheme, taking more cash off the motorist. Equally, the plates which have been changed so much they take the micky should be pulled up. Fine line off course.

  7. Agree harder on the eye but the constant reason they give is ANPR can’t pick them up but that’s a lie, car park ANPR is bottom of the barrel and picks them up, everyone I know with dodgy spacing still get fines in the post? So clearly gets picked up, seems easier now to just run no plate lol i just hate the fact that all these police force Facebook pages etc all they brag about is traffic offences, they never post things like, This weeks task force, we took down a burglary gang or bank robbery gang, exposed a fraud team etc it’s just this week we took down 87 motorists with miss spaced plates, 3 drivers doing 44 in a 40 zone and 7 drivers with window tints

  9. 6.30am. -3 degrees. Foggy. And you expect me to come out in a car with no roof in this - did you mention a full English breakfast? And a carvery for lunch. And being with lovely like minded people mad enough to venture out instead of getting back under the duvet. Twisted my arm. On my way - only 2hrs to the starting point…..
