  1. I’ve been chasing an oil leak that I’d finally whittled down to either the rear main seal (RMS) or the gearbox input shaft seal. I decided to tackle the fix in my own garage for the first time. To make it work, I bought a new low-profile engine hoist that allowed me to drive the car over the legs; this meant I could push the car in and out of the garage to create the space I needed. I managed to get the engine out and back in within a day. Admittedly, the dry sump makes the job slightly more complex, but I bought some AN12 and AN10 caps so I could seal the pipework and pull the tank out while it was still full of oil. Once I pulled the flywheel to check the RMS, it actually looked perfectly dry. The front end of the gearbox, however, didn’t look quite so good!

  2. I have one of these. It's just about big enough and is the biggest could fit in to my situation but a bit damp/condensaty in the winter. I could run a dehumidifier in the winter but the back 1/4 is on unsealed ground so I don't think it'd be much help. Or maybe just quite inefficient. https://www.houseoftents.co.uk/portable-garage/67835.html Very sturdy though, totally unaffected by the high winds these last two years, and there's enough room to work around the car as well, including lifting th engine out with a crane.

  7. Great News our application for a Club Display area at the BRDC 2026 has been accepted by Silverstone Events. We have requested a Parade lap and are waiting to see if our request will be approved. Car Club Display Package Tickets are now available to purchase on the Silverstone web site. Please bear with us as this year Silverstone Events have been very specific about the criteria for clubs they are accepting and are asking all clubs to verify ticket purchases. I am waiting for clarification from Silverstone on what they are expecting from us as a club with regards verification. Once this is clear I will update this post with the Club code.
