  1. Just before Christmas I fitted my new header tank: I had to cut the old connecting hose off and fit a new one: I had to order a new hose clamp which arrived the next day. Then my mother came down with some sort of norovirus thing and my wife came down with flu. Just as they were getting themselves sorted out I came down with some sort of lurgi as well. But, today, I finally got the hose clamp fitted: It only took three weeks 🫣 David

  2. We will be visiting the Anderton Boat Lift on the 17th May. We will have a display area reserved for our Westfields, there is a nice cafe for breakfast and canal boat rides are available if you fancy something a bit more leisurely. Please let me know if you can attend so we can ensure we have enough spaces reserved. Anderton Boat Lift, Lift Lane, Anderton, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 6FW.

  3. After 12 years of ownership I have decided to sell my 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX 2.0 U.K. car. Owned by me since November 2013 and before that by another WSCC member. Approx 96500 miles, used initially as a second car and then more recently as third to my BRZ. Large file of receipts, never welded since I’ve had it and not before as far as I’m aware. In recent years most of the mileage has been done driving between car shows. I have not modified the car in any way as I prefer to keep them as standard, although the previous owner did tell me when I bought it that this has a Prodrive back box fitted. Being a 2004 car this also falls into the cheaper road tax bracket. I have always kept on top of any maintenance and major jobs completed over the 12 years I’ve owned it. The Clutch was replaced shortly after I bought the car and the timing belt last year at the same time as the last service and MoT which was at 96552 miles, the transfer box has been rebuilt with new seals and bearings at 82000 miles and a new alternator and battery was fitted at 95014 miles, 6 months MOT till July 2026. The Airbag recall has been done by Subaru in 2016. Large file of receipts for servicing and MoT’s going back to 2007. Like all Impreza’s do at some time in their life this does have a parasitic battery drain from the tracker. Despite my best efforts I’ve not managed to find where it is so I can disconnect it, but I keep the car plugged into a charger when not being driven. The car is fitted with a tow-bar but I still have the brackets which fit behind the rear bumper should you wanted to remove the tow bar and refit these. I will be sorry to see the car go but as I am now working from home it’s difficult to justify owning this and two other cars and in the last year I only covered 100 miles. £6750 or very near offers. I am located in Fordham to the North West of Colchester and viewings are possible most days. Caveat emptor: I am a private seller and not an expert, therefore photos and descriptions are my opinion and provided solely for guidance purposes. it is recommended that prospective buyers carry out a full inspection prior to purchase for your own peace of mind and verification of accuracy. 4. Thanks to the generous support of the members. I am currently boxing each mug or mugs ready for safe transportation. Hoping to have completed this by the end of the week having sold them much faster than anticipated. Monday Tuesday deliveries I would expect. ATB Hedley.

  9. A nice but chilly drive to and from the Ace Cafe 'Cold Turkey' meet this morning. Plenty of bikers, some classic cars and some good chats. The XI started up well without a choke and ran faultlessly.

  14. After a number of issues since a fresh engine, gearbox and chassis rebuild. Just finished refitting the engine and gearbox after repairs to both. Also fitted a new propshaft and various other bits and pieces. Just in time for tomorrow's trackday! 🤞😀

  15. And....... breathe!!! The red rocket has a fresh MOT! She had been laid up for 4 months due to work and family commitments (so needed a few quid thrown at her) but I'm so pleased my happy place is back on the road!!!
