Just a quick heads up to our fellow member @Rednop1. After thinking for quite a while, in May I've pulled the plug and messaged Ash to order a carbon bonnet and nose. It was a difficult request for him, as the lot needed to be shipped over to Italy, and I can tell you, it's not easy to ship such large parts outside the UK post-Brexit. He kindly agreed, and two days ago those beauties showed up at my house: They were packed like nothing else I've ever bought, could have been around the world a few times without getting a single scratch. He even messaged me a couple of months ago about my bonnet which was ready, however it showed a small imperfection, and he offered me a discount or to redo the part if I wasn't in a hurry. Top guy, top parts and top service. Couldn't ask for more.4 points

Completed a proper brake upgrade today. Well, the chaps at my local garage (J Day Engineering) did. Mine is a factory built car, from 1993, and having only done 4000 miles, was still on its original brake pads, tiddly discs and tiny calipers from a Cortina, from back in the day. Now it has sparkly new kit from Burton Power. HiSpec 4 pot calipers with the largest discs to fit inside my 15 inch Minilites, HiSpec braided hoses and Greenstuff fast-road pads, and fresh brake fluid. (Mine is very much a road car rather than a track weapon.) Given the car is around the 400 bhp per tonne mark, I now look forward to it being able to stop as efficiently as it is able to proceed. I'll collect it tomorrow. The only downside being it'll only be around 0 degrees C when I do. (Finally, for those that are interested in this sort of thing, the parts bill came to about £750 including delivery and VAT, while the labour was circa £350 including Vat. So £1100 all in. I'm perfectly happy with that.)3 points

Your wallet will be considerably lighter with such great products! 😉 He does two 'flavours', race with no clearcoat which is lighter than road with clearcoat, so perhaps weights of all 3 would help!2 points

Westfield Seight, V8 Less than 3 yrs old, and has only done 1200 miles. Kit purchased in 2007 by an elderly gentleman who never built it, I purchased it in 2016, and it went through IVA in 2022 having spent 6 years building it to a very high standard. It was issued with a new 22 plate and went through IVA 1st time. Always garaged and has never seen a drop of rain. No doubt one of the last Seights to be registered. This car has been built by myself with a ‘no compromise on quality’ approach. As you can see by the specification, I’ve only used the highest quality components. The engine block used was also one of the last units that came off the production line and as such is one of the most reliable blocks rover produced. I have a ton of history, folders and receipts for the car, which will all go to the new owner. The engine has been correctly mapped and has been designed for drivability, the car is incredibly smooth and ballistically fast, but at the same time easy to drive. The aeroscreen is surprisingly good at keeping the wind off, and it rides beautifully thanks to a full NMS geo set up. Just had an oil and filter change (Valvoline Vr1) Will come with a Laptop that has preloaded software to control the Canems ECU (should you every want to remap), DASH 2 (can be completely re-configured), Freewheel configuration Car will be MOT’ed before sale and comes with a set of spare keys. Please, no time wasters or silly offers, the money will be going towards another future build (but not this year). But if you do want to own what is no doubt one of the best Westfield V8’s out there, then message me if interested. Thanks everybody for your comments, much appreciated. I didn't realise you could get different sized full screens, this may be part of the solution. Steve1 point

That's no problem. I would happily take the cycle wing brackets as well in case.1 point

I’m gonna try and sell as a complete wide track and brake upgrade kit. If I struggle I’ll start breaking it up into parts and let you know.1 point

That is lovely. I have a 2008 MK3 on 27K miles one previous owner - will be perfect for a BBR supercharger or turbo conversion one day 🙂1 point

Yeah, for light fittings not designed to go on the back of a trailer or commercial vehicle, that's pretty good.1 point

A few packages arrived today — a kit with Powerlite calipers, Wilwood BP40 pads (I’m hoping they won’t be worse than the DS1.11), 265 mm solid discs, and a few small bits for installing the handbrake. Besides that, a 3.62 differential with a Gripper plate LSD for the MNR. Now I ‘only’ need to put it all together…1 point
