  3. Today, we caught a bit of the air race at Wellesbourne and had lunch. Later, we stopped at Pistons and Rings near Daventry for a cuppa and car chat. Pics at Daventry.

  4. Just a follow up to your kind suggestion - I changed the tie rods to enable the "proper fitting" of the rack Thanks so much for that advice. I've also now had the 4 wheel alignment done and ride height adjustment.

  5. I think it's all good news, if it sells well enough to be sustainable. Caterham have done very well without revolution, so why not? Then there'll be a solid base for them to hopefully build up the support for existing owners- that's the bit I'm more selfishly concerned about I guess, but this news makes it seem possible.

  9. Surprisingly good. Don’t be outraged, but in my naivety when I first bought the car back (and likely when I had it the first time) I was never particularly aware of the pressures in the previous set of tyres so I have no idea what they were! It felt pretty dodgy with the new tyres at 32 psi, but now with them at 18 it feels fine. Moving from semi slick 205 to treaded 195 the steering feels a fair amount lighter so in some ways I prefer it. There is obviously, noticeably less grip but it still feels nice to drive, I guess it just encourages a slightly more relaxed driving style rather than exploiting the grip as tends to be the case with the r888r. I’ll do as I intended which is to keep these on over the winter months and until the weather improves as I don’t enjoy the other tyres when it is wet. They will definitely go back on though as they are great fun and the cornering/braking is amazing.

  10. Out and about today with my little co-pilot. Beautiful sunshine here, with amazing views along the coast road to Abbotsbury from West Bay, where we spent a few hours at the swan sanctuary, very relaxing. New hub covers stayed on! 💪🤣

  13. Making it myself, squared up the bonnet as best as possible to make it a bit straighter and made the gaps more uniform, so hopefully the carbon one will fit loads better! Should lose a couple KG's as well!! Just have to decide on what weave orientation I want to have next, and make the plugs for the vents. Might make myself a couple bonnets for fun, but have no intention currently on producing many. Might put the mould up for sale after I have had my fun though!

  15. No photos, but is there any better feeling than getting the Westfield out on a warm, sunny day, wringing its neck on empty country roads and making a glorious noise, then stopping at a beautiful country pub for a breather and your favourite pint? 😎 No details, but after a very challenging 12 months healthwise at home and £40k spent on unexpected necessities since July, I really needed that bit of joy, release from reality and reaffirmation. Personal batteries recharged.
