Almost two years late, but I've managed to get my 40th birthday present sorted: A flight experience at Goodwood, in their Harvard. I had an amazing time, and got to fly her for maybe 5 mins whilst we were up,followed by a suitable amount of aerobatics. It turns out, if you don't clench hard enough, you really can start to grey out at the bottom of a 4g loop. 😮 Quick in-flight selfie: The view out over the wing, showing Thorney Island: An ever so slightly adrenaline filled me: I may take up wearing flight suits, as they're rather slimming.8 points

It's defo quick on the Brakes could outbrake most, if not all around me and through the twisty bit of stuff was pretty good also. Helps been a short wheelbase in that aspect. Can't quite push on down the hill sections and loose a tad on the straights but overall I'm pretty impressed with it as it's set fully soft aswell on the Dampers! Will defo get some better tyres next year when these have run out of wear for sure something that is a combination for fast road and track tho as a compromise as don't want to replace em every few track days. If money was no object would have a set of Road, Slicks and Wets lol. Defo a great day and look forward to a few next year for sure.4 points

Well i was hoping for a bit of hope 🤣 guess I came to the wrong forum 🤣🤣🤣 its the 8 legged sea creature i'm with. A "known issue" scares me as it just sounds like nothings been done to sort. I've read of this type of thing all been caused due to the metre clock been half an hour out 😱😱😱 scarey to think I may never of known had I not bought an ev. Another sore point is I spend more time turning things off and looking for the right screen than driving. But hey thats just the way its gone. We arent trusted to think while we drive. Give me back switches and dials. But the bonus being It just makes getting in an analogue westy even better. Clense the sole of the ev 💩1 point

Yes it's fantastic. Trouble is it can also be used to generate things like this. I simply asked it to write me a believable email in the style of a Nigerian scammer. Had to pretend I was studying them, but it then did this instantly: From: Dr. Emmanuel Okon Email: emmanuel.okon@consultantmail.com Date: September 6, 2025 Dear Friend, I am Dr. Emmanuel Okon, the son of the late Minister of Petroleum Resources in Nigeria. Due to recent political instability in our country, I am seeking a trustworthy foreign partner to assist in transferring the sum of $27,500,000.00 USD into a secure offshore account. This fund was secured through government contracts before my father's untimely death. As his next of kin, I am entitled to the inheritance, but due to government restrictions, I cannot access it directly from Nigeria. I urgently seek your assistance to receive this money into your account. For your efforts, I will offer you 30% of the total sum, while 5% will go to cover any legal or transfer fees. This transaction is 100% risk-free and requires your absolute confidentiality. Please reply immediately with your: Full name Contact address Telephone number Bank account information (for transfer) Time is of the essence. I await your swift and sincere response.Respectfully, Dr. Emmanuel Okon1 point

I asked a question tell me about the Westfield sports car club? here is the answer in seconds! Here’s a glimpse of the Westfield Sports Car Club (WSCC) in action: you’ll see photos that capture everything from spirited track runs to local gatherings of Westfield and other 7-type cars. About the Westfield Sports Car Club (WSCC) Founded in 1986, the WSCC is a vibrant community for owners and enthusiasts of Westfield sports cars and other 7-type (Lotus Seven-inspired) kit cars . The club is entirely volunteer-run, led by an eight-person committee and supported by over thirty-five local area organisers, creating both a lively national community and active regional groups . Club Activities & Events Local Area Meets Members regularly enjoy monthly meetups, drive-outs, and social gatherings at local venues. These are organised by area organisers across the UK, making it easy to connect with fellow owners nearby . National Shows WSCC consistently has one of the largest displays at the National Kit Car Show held at Malvern, and also regularly participates in high-profile events like the Silverstone Classic . 7s Speed Series This competitive motorsport series, evolved from the earlier Club Championship, offers sprints and hill climb events tailored to 7-type cars. The calendar typically includes dozens of events across the UK, with classes catering to different experience levels and vehicle types . Novices can compete alongside seasoned drivers in a welcoming environment . Member Benefits For around £35 per year, membership includes: A tri-annual club magazine (Westfield World), available in print or digital form . Access to a forum offering technical help, classifieds for cars and parts, event schedules, and social chat . Community support, with advice on builds, repairs, and modifications from knowledgeable members . Show access, including being able to display your car at major automotive events . Discounts on insurance, parts, accessories, and exclusive merchandise . Organized road trips and social experiences for members to enjoy their cars together . Club Heritage & Independence WSCC prides itself on being independent of Westfield Sportscars (the manufacturer), despite the shared passion for the marque. Their strength comes from the membership and volunteer base, not from corporate ownership . The club continues the legacy of Westfield cars—originally inspired by the Lotus Seven—and maintains a strong community despite changes in the manufacturer’s status over the years . What Members Say A note from a recent discussion on r/CarTalkUK: “The Westfield bunch are very much as you describe.” Another user chimed in: “Literally came here to say this. Look at the Westfield Sports Car Club.” It’s clear that members appreciate the friendly, down-to-earth community and the opportunity to share their love of these unique cars.1 point

Was a really good evening and didn't even have a Scrooby Doo of how the track flowed as did no pre watching videos so was a great learning curve! Interesting watching fellow cars scampa away into the distance as was pushing my road tyres to the limit but to be fair they have seen 3 Track days and 4000 miles of road use so far so wear rate is minimal even if limited grip, but fun factor is massive. Can't wait to do some more next year with you guys!1 point

Aim to pass the IVA and not 'wing it'. It would be a shame to fail on such a simple/avoidable item. If with modifications, you can demonstrate they meet the viewing angles, you should be fine. My tester commented at the start that he likes testing Westfields as if you build them to the manual with the factory provided items they generally pass.1 point

I had a lot of great adventures in that car, covering over 14k miles on tours. I'm glad to see it's gone to a good home and is only about an hour away. Here are a few shots from some of my favorite trips in the car. USA2005 Monterey car week 2012. This kid was a huge fan of the cars -- that's a big deal given the lack of se7en awareness in the US -- but he had never seen one in the flesh. That smile is the result of taking him for a spirited drive. This is on the way to Mount Rainier as part of a 3-day loop in 2017. I'm looking forward to hearing about your own adventures! Cheers, John1 point

This starts with a confession that I bought an ev as a daily 😤 purely financial reasons with a 90mile daily commute So since i've bought my ev electric use has gone mental. Was paying £70 a month now paying £275 but I've opted to pay £30 a month for unlimited charging. On digging into the figures it appears my meter is doubling the readings and I really dont know how far back this goes. When the car is charging in a half hour period on ohme during the night its registering 3.2- 3.4 kw/h where as the electric provider its registering as 7.4kw/h -7.8 kw/h in a half hour period. My single phase charger can't achieve this and this is through the night when its mostly standby usage in the home. I've also discovered when I trickle charged the car before my charger was installed it had similar behaviour. Charger is only capable of approx 1.8kw/h yet the electric companys recording 3.4kw/h. I'm in talks with the supplier!!! Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experience. I've discivered the goverment recommend a metre to be calibrated every 5years or the manufacturers recomendation. The manufacturer wont speak to public only the purchaser. I've never heard of anyone having a metre calibrated. The supplier has referred me to the metering team as it could be a "known issue". This I find mad as if I hadnt bought the ev I would never of known I was possibly over paying as I thought I was just a heavy user. Scarey 😱😱😱 I fitted this https://amzn.eu/d/aqZH4oS today so I can monitor my consumption. It will take a few days as my smart metre readings are a few days behind to be able to compare0 points

Yep, EDF. 10 months and counting. I could tell you the sorry tale of rank ineptitude but I'd still be typing tomorrow. They've ****ed up in every possible way that you can imagine plus some really inventive ways that you can't possibly even conceive of.0 points

Good luck. I've been fighting EDF for 4 months now cos they had two leccy smart meters and one gas listed at our new house when there's def only one of each. Recently they replaced both gas and leccy meters with new having said that was the only way to solve the problem. Guess what - I now have 3 leccy and 2 gas meters on my account and they're ignoring me. So I'll be off to the ombudsman on Monday0 points
