  1. I visited Llandudno last Saturday with the family and realised it was two years since my last blat into Wales. I'd seen the NWKCOG had a lunch time meet planned for today, so I suggested to a few, how about a blat into Wales first. Some (well two), weren't so keen on my suggested leave home time of 6am, so I met @Tony H , @M8KWR Dave Fleet (Orange Mev) @Louie just outside Trentham Garden's. As I was travelling there @andyjs spotted I was out and joined us with his Caterham pilot friend Scott. On my way there I took this pic- Just arrived outside Trentham Gardens We then headed over to Audlem to meet @CosKev Tony Hallam (Tiger owner with a Saab Turbo engine). Kev had kindly put a great run together for us, but due to the later than wanted start time we weren't likely to get as far into Wales as I'd hoped for. Here's are route. Some great roads. A brief stop to water the plants. Found this interesting car at a fuel stop in Shrewsbury. Only 1 made it's a McEwen and Pete it's owner and driver was in it! He's a kiwi but lived in the UK since the 80's. The car is 600kgs and powered by a 2.5L EcoBoost currently running at 300bhp. Mainly used on track. @CosKev & Tony Hallam needed to head to their respective homes, so I led the six others to the Newcott Chippy. Lot's of fake snakes and a few 7's!

  2. We are off to Andrew's @AndrewBClarke favourite place, the Rambler Inn, Edale. We will go via Longshaw to pick up Surprise View before taking in Winnat's Pass, so a good route to finally drop us down the twisty Mam Nick road into the back of Edale. All welcome at Quackers Cafe, keep it fair for the paying members and let's have members only on the run out please. See you in the morning!

  4. Why not use two glass beads set in rubber like what's been used for 300 years you have to have a round wheel square won't work some nxb got loadsa money to design that hideous lump of alloy which will probably all be nicked when the lads with the transit pick up work out it's easy cash to rip em out.

  6. The second of our usual two track days per year is on Friday, 19th September 2025. The format for this event will be the same as in previous years. Hopefully, we will have the café open this time too! Please read all of the details below and contact me as requested please. Also, please read the following disclaimer: ** To save the WSCC from any liability issues I have to let you know that the Curborough track days have been booked by Warwickshire Area Organisers independently (as they have been for the last 15 years) and are not therefore organised or sanctioned by the Westfield Sports Car Club. ** As usual we are keeping it to only 15 cars, with first choice on the limited number of places to Warwickshire Area WSCC members, then followed by the wider WSCC membership. If all the places are not filled, I will post it on the Warwickshire Area Facebook page and accept non-WSCC members to make up the numbers. I have arranged to have the on-site café provide us with food and drinks for the day. Clearly there is an additional cost for this, so the fee has been adjusted accordingly. The costs are the same as for the May event this year, It will be £102 per car/driver including food, if all 15 places are filled. Any additional driver/passenger will be £17 to cover food only (if required). I intend to open the gates around 9am, the track will open at 10am, with lunch from 1pm until 2pm and finishing at 5pm. NOTE 1: The proposed fee will cover all the costs with a small surplus, to be donated to the appropriate WSCC charity (Air Ambulance). However, if we cannot fill all the places then I will have to ask for additional funds to cover the cost of the hire. NOTE 2: I would like all monies paid by the 5th September. These track days are often oversubscribed therefore we will keep a reserve list in case of last minute withdrawals, but if places are not filled by re-sale, refunds for non-attendance cannot be made. Please follow the instructions below; 1. Send me a PM with your full name, an email address and a mobile number 2. Pay the full balance by bank transfer to the details I return to you, ASAP please 3. Read the menu below and indicate a lunch preference to pre-order. Note: breakfast sandwich is ordered on the day. Menu Breakfast - bacon & egg or sausage & egg sandwiches Lunch - Burger & chips or curry & chips Drinks - tea, coffee & squash available all day (Other items may be purchased from the cafe on the day) Finally, due to the requirements of managing the track entrance I could do with at least one assistant who is prepared to attend and help with organising without driving or alternatively a few drivers to give up driving time to assist. Please message me if you wish to volunteer. For anyone considering a track day for the first time this event is a good introduction to track driving. It is always a great day and a safe way to explore the limits of your car and yourself with only one car on the circuit at a time. If you need any more information on this event, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I will add names to this list as they are booked: 1. Ian Heawood 2. Justin Lever 3. Greg Penney 4. Nick Mucklow 5. Tim Lawton 6. Hedley Bennett 7. Mike Williams and Jane 8. Lee Beech and Trace 9. Andy Wilkes 10. Ben Draper 11. Steve Potter 12. Phil Dyke 13. Steve Bamforth 14. 15. 8. There was a section of road near to me that had led lights installed a few years ago, instead of cats eyes. Quite a winding road with no street lights and out in the countryside, you could drive it at night with your lights off! Having said all that, I don't think they work anymore 😆

  11. Quickest way is to put a photo up. if they were originally supplied by Westfield, they have the Westfield Sunburst logo cast into them, normally. However, if supplied direct via Hi Spec, or from another Hi Spec dealer, they are plain. (They may also have a slightly different steering arm).

  16. Hi all, new member and owner here! After much deliberating and procrastination, I have finally decided to stop all that nonsense and take the plunge into Westfield ownership... with both feet, at the deep end. Someone had to...! I'm now the proud owner of a very pretty Seight in Westfield Racing Green, which comes with some interesting legacy and may well be known to a few members. The 4.6 rover V8 EFI topped with supercharger runs hot and raucous, despite methanol cooling on boost. Delightfully terrifying. The build is superb and the previous owner had it meticulously prepared after 10 years of ownership and personalisation. A couple of small gremlins sorted already and she's back on the road. I will have one or two small things to change in the near term and I may have to swap out the original sports seats for something more accommodating of my 6'4" frame, but for now it's time to enjoy. More to come.

  19. In the last few days the roads around my village have been shut for cat eye replacement they may as well have fitted paving blocks the new cat eyes are solid alloy and are 30 mm tall i drove over a couple in the westie and the jolt almost pulled the wheel out of my hands and hit them with the rear wheel and your out of the seat there ridiculous I can't imagine how cyclists and motorcycles are going to manage there's going to be an accident for sure.

  20. I've started work on assessing the damage done to the XI. This was flat: The lowered passenger floor has taken a bit more of a beating than I realised, as it doesn't look too bad from underneath. Lifting the seat pad out gave a different view, as I could fit my hand under the gap. Some how, the chassis has nothing more than a scuff to the powdercoat at the front! There are three rivnuts that spin due to bent bolts, but otherwise the damage is limited to the bolt on undertray and the seat floor. I am rather glad I was flying solo at the time!
