  2. Here’s my car with 185/60 13 front wheels. Whilst the wheels don’t fill the arches, I don’t think they look horrendous. The car was initially fitted with 195/50 15 wheels, which probably did look a little better. However the change to a smaller front tyre and rim width in my opinion, has made the car much more agile.

  3. Third completed TD with MNR – still no issues and..no spins! Re - spins — a slightly different story compared to my early Westfield days 😏. For this TD, the organiser required a side window net to be fitted — needed a bit of welding, etc., but it’s done and gives some extra confidence. Need to do the same im track Westfield .

  4. Lots of people on holiday this month, but still a great turnout from the regulars today - the weather was perfect and a little carpark DIY happened as I fitted a BlinkSTOP with new plug & play loom to Paul's incredible Atom 4. Paul always forgets to turn his indicators off, and sure enough it came into use immediately on his drive home 🙂

  11. New Victor Reinz exhaust manifold gasket for when I find time to remove the manifold and turbo and finally fix the loose turbo nuts once and for all! Locking nuts, Nordlock washers and extreme high temp threadlocker on the way to me, hopefully they will stay tight with all that in place!

  12. New boots! Looking forward to seeing how the AR1 compares to the V70a, R888r's, ZZS and ZZR Also picked up a PX600 airbox for a bargain price, hopefully this will help keep me below the 98db drive by at Donington!

  13. Got to test both on a 1000km trip to Hell and Lånkebanen for some autocross on the rallycross-track. Awesome place to drive, and the osgiken really transformed the car. Really predictable and a lot more grip. This is a just-do-it-upgrade if you got a Mazda diff and use the car on track! The carbonbox made the trip up and down much more enjoyable aswell. Happy!

  14. We had 16 cars down for coming today, but due to various circumstances we managed 10. It didn't rain, although it was cloudy. Lots of kits there, Tigers, MEV and a lot of Caterhams too. https://youtu.be/FldAPC9ngo8?si=IMaHzjJCqvnQQQJC

  19. Yes i still think the pics ive seen of your car previously with 205s look better its a shame the r888s are 140 odd each id like to get my hands on a couple of used 185s just to try

  21. 205/60/13 is 57 cm diameter and 185/6013 is 55cm (edit - mistake corrected) , so 10mm difference in ride height. I would not bother in road car, in track - needs lot of tests as change in ride height changes angle of wishbone and steering rod, and ride height changing is involved with change of sprong preload, lot of fun

  26. Great info ta! As well as the front ride height changing between 185s and 205s, do you find any issue with the front wing width? I'm really keen to get your view on how the 205s do on the front, so will be looking out for posts on that.

  27. @markcwalker @Flying Carrot Steve I run a staggered set upon mine. 13x6 front and 13x8 rears. On the front I normally run 185/60 R888R or 185/55 Avon ZZS or ZZR, although I'm trying 205/60 AR1 on one set. On the rear I normally run 215/55 Avon ZZS or ZZR or 235/45 Kumho V70a. The 235/45 AR1's in the photo are replacing the Kumho's on one set. My "wet" set will now have 185/60 R888R and 215/55 ZZS. My "dry" set will now have 205/60 and 235/45 AR1. I do adjust the ride heights between the 2 sets to keep the nose down attitude (stops understeer) but that only takes 30 mins with a C spanner. In terms of front end grip, the 185's are fine even with the heavyish MegaS2000.... The semi slicks like a bit of heat so going slightly narrower doesnt make a difference when pushing on. On track it keeps a nice balance between just a touch of understeer at the limit and over steer at on the power (the S2000 engine easily overwhelms the rears!). For reference, the Caterham 620R uses the same 185 and 215 staggered set up (I use the Caterham Apollo wheels from the 620R). Now the Avons are out of production, Jack Webb are recommending the Kumho V70a in 175 section on the front. We will see how the 205's do on track at Donington in a couple of weeks 🤞

  34. Another thrilling update for all those interested in ‘What have we done’ We will be collecting the car one day the week after next and Andrew at Toybox has come up trumps and found us a roof 😎 This afternoon has been spent fitting the lift. All the heavy stuff is done, electrics and hydraulics tomorrow, hopefully ending with the Spitfire up on top bunk before we go away Monday morning🤞 The good news is, it actually fits!

  36. So the Duratec is still available and would meet most, if not all of the previously outlined requirements (couple of tweaks would see one spin to over 8k I would have thought?) also leaves open the idea that the exhaust primaries we saw on the teaser might be mirrored on the other side and we get a new SEight….🤞🏻😂

  40. Just dropped you a PM The horizontal bar illuminates as a DRL, with dip above and beam below. Flat cut off for dip. Not tested at night yet but I do prefer the clear lens look. More modern feel Andy

  41. Got the local garage to replace the timing belt as I had no idea how old it was and for all I knew it could be original. It didn't look 16 years old but it was a Ford branded part so who knows? D

  42. Not many tracks in Poland, so such mix of autocross and track (cones etc instead of always the same track line as on normal car tracks). I like this Autodrom Jastrząb , good sticky surface, not top fast hotel and parking few metres from start(cold shower between sessions on hot day! ) .. but yes. Have to drive there from home approx 3-3.5 hrs with trailer .
