  3. Just back in from the Thornes Park Show. The rain held off, it tried a couple of times but nothing to worry about. Great show with loads of different cars to look at. We managed 9 cars in total.

  9. Attended Horsepower Hill at Heveningham Hall Country fair last weekend. This wasn’t about an A to B time but the speed you crossed the line. The track was short but fun. I was told there was a bend over a blind crest so lifted on my first run. I didn’t notice a bend so went for it on my next 4 runs. I got faster each run and my fastest was 90mph. The worst bit being a cattle grid 200m past the finish line so the brakes got a good test. There were some nice cars competing and having fun from an F40, FX90, Lamborghini SVJ, R8s, Audi RS, 800bhp Focus. The winner was a 1500bhp Nissan GTR with 119mph. Me and my daughter loved it and will go again next year.

  10. Thanks to @Robin Parker (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO @tuonokid58 & @Tony R for coming to the Carding Shed (Oil Can Cafe). I'm sorry to advise we didn't dine together there as they were shut! They no longer open on Mon and Tue! Robin had a bright idea to visit the Motorist (via @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator)'s house.

  11. So from work we get a quarterly "wellness allowance". Meant for home office niceties, gym subscriptions, fitness equipment etc. You get the idea. I managed to sneak these through as "gym trainers", in a fetching shade of Westfield blue to match the car. Just right for the treadmill, or a small pedal box, whichever seems more appropriate! 🤣🫣🤫

  12. There isn’t a section for returning users, so thought Startline was probably the best place to put this. For those of you who don’t know/remember me, I’m Mat and was a member here 3-4 years ago - used to have a green 1.8 Zetec before Covid job loss forced me to sell. For those of you I have met up with previously - hello again, can’t wait to see you all. My partner will confirm I’ve been a right miserable and grumpy sod since selling up, and so delighted to report that I’ve finally managed to rectify the situation. Introducing the Jaffa Cake. A 2.0 Duratec SEiW Deal agreed today and will be collected this coming week at some point. I’m based South Lincs, towards Peterborough. Looking forward to one of your run outs to some cake at some point @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative and @AndrewBClarke. Will be in touch with you too@Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) East Anglia AO as I think you’re my closest AO? Thanks Mat
