A great big thank you to Marcus Barlow, our Events manager for giving us this tour, here it is from our seat. Thank you for the hats in the best colour! We travelled up the M6 with @AndrewBClarke, @neptune and @Stuart, making our way to the Lakeland Motor Museum for lunch by the river whilst watching the steam train, fantastic start. Lakeland Motor Museum It's cafe by the river, overlooking the cars and steam trains Next we drove along the shores of Lake Windermere to ride on the ferry and experience the Lakes close up After the torrential downpour we were glad to park our cars in the heated underground car park at Travelodge Kendal, what a luxury. I am hoping others will post their experience on here and will include a photo of approx 20 Westfield's tucked up for the night. We went into Kendal town to eat with the 3 Andy's and others The puddings flowed and the frivolities started Next morning we all gathered for the Tour Talk from Marcus Then it was time to set off, excited!! Thanks @Glynn Walters for the photo At The New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, Langdale It is in a lovely situation Next stop for us was the Honister Slate Mine cafe, here is the Honister Pass And here is us parked up Glenridding, a little mountain village next Time for ice creams Then we went a walk, follow me, puff it's uphill all the way to the top! To Lanty's Tarn For views over Ullswater Glenridding The second day was the Dales tour, over Buttertubs Pass and to the beautiful Simonstone Hall with it's amazing views, stopping for drinks The walk at Malham was cancelled due to rain so we went to Ribblehead Viaduct and sat it out in the Station Inn Our journey home with Andrew was to get down the M6 and pick up the Peak District, getting to the Cupola cafe before separating A fantastic trip, even if I didn't quite have a clue which National Park I was in each day, does it matter? they are all beautiful. Thanks to everyone for making it the awesome trip that it was, now let's have a little pray that Marcus treats us to the same next year XXXXXXXXXXXX12 points

Some scumbag or group of scumbags (collective noun, anyone?) using a VPN decided to do a spam attack on the boardroom at lunchtime today, with about 15 different accounts (so far) signing up and immediately dropping spam posts around the board in about 20 minutes. As a consequence, I’ve had to go backstage, ban each account and ramp up the security settings so that Admins have to approve new accounts before they become active. This may inconvenience new genuine members for the time being, but it will stop the spam post flurry and I’ll do my best to stay on top of it.3 points

As some of you know, my little green car had its MOT June 6th. Well she passed, and we are going out today for some more familiarisation with driving her. We are planning on going to the Coleshill Auto Breakfast Meet Big Day Out on the 29th as that was the last event my dad drove her to before he passed. If anyone is in the Midlands area and fancies joining me, the more the merrier. https://www.coleshillautobreakfastmeet.org/event-details-registration/big-day-out-all-day-event1 point

Maybe some of you have heard the latest news – Le Mans 2025 was won by Polish driver Robert Kubica! His main sponsor is ORLEN. While I was testing my recently finished (and finally working!) MNR, it seems some folks from ORLEN were watching my driving — and they sent me a whole cistern of their fuel. Nice!1 point

Beautiful example of an original Long Wheel Base 1974 VW GP Beach Buggy (as detailed on the V5) - MOT and Road Tax exempt. Rebuilt and restored from the ground up. Original 1600 engine 1974 chassis. Original speedometer. EMPI gear knob and wheel. New seats. Drives lovely, lots of power! Body sprayed in white metallic with blue metallic stripe. 5. 1 JL Audio Sound system is an absolute highlight with a custom built rear mould housing a sub and two rear speakers, plus 2 front speaker and Bluetooth interface. Sounds incredible. Condition is superb, a few minor imperfections on the body work. Driven in the summer and gets lots of attention! Well maintained by experienced retired mechanic who specialises in classic cars. Comes with lots of history (pictures on a USB stick of the rebuild). Also comes with a towing A frame that attaches to the front of the chassis. Absolute delight and will be missed however it's time to move onto something new and let someone else enjoy driving down the road listening to The Beach Boys! Any questions please ask away. Pictures don't do it justice in my view, it's fantastic. Happy to take out on a drive to experience the thrill. The specification is outstanding and the attention to detail in the restoration is lovely. Every nut and bolt stainless steel. The engine all chrome and looks elegant. It's also super comfortable and carpeted. There's also room in that back for luggage. I drove this back from Bournemouth to Kent when I purchased it. Since then it's been on day trips to the beach, and even gets the odd trip out to the shops! Only on sunny days of course! Ask for more details and pictures. Price £89951 point

(Both on runners) Built for the Ultimate Road and Track Experience The goal was simple: create a car that’s perfect for road trips—capable of being driven to the track, enjoyed all day, and then comfortably driven home. By focusing on weight reduction throughout the build, the car retains exceptional handling and delivers a superb driving experience. Countless hours of development and fine-tuning on the dyno have resulted in a car that’s incredibly fast yet remarkably smooth and easy to drive. It cruises effortlessly and responds with precision, a testament to the quality and attention to detail invested in the build—truly second to none. In 2019/20, the car underwent a full, chassis-up ‘nut and bolt’ rebuild. During this process, the chassis was heavily modified and reinforced, especially around the rear end and differential, to handle increased torque. Additional strengthening was applied to the front suspension area. Lowered steel floors were installed, and the entire chassis was shot-blasted and powder-coated in satin black—effectively making the car like new. The track width is approximately 160mm wider than a standard SEIW. The car has covered 14,500 miles since. chassis was registered in 2003. Registered on a Q plate, the car is exempt from emissions testing at MOT, meaning a cat is not required. This also provides greater flexibility for tuning the fuel and ignition system to achieve optimal performance. The car comes in 2 colours! The fibreglass is ford stealth grey (see pics) which is currently professionally wrapped in stunning Hexis ‘Wasabi green’ £25.5k Located in fife Scotland1 point
