Flat battery this morning meant Team Hall did a quick nose cone off and battery swap. I was impressed when we arrived at the museum that they had reserved our favourite parking spaces on the left under the sign, that's thoughtful of them. Coffee, breakfast butties and relax as we all had a catch up in the cafe at the museum There were lots of Lotus but I personally didn't see one single Caterham, what are they trying to say to the organisers? We went on a lovely run out through the sunny countryside, @Tony H made me laugh when he said how he enjoyed it but hadn't got any clue where he had actually been, that's job satisfaction for me Tony👍 This is the bit where we don't mention ALDI 😁 we arrived at Thornbridge Brewery and it was rather more busy than expected, the Father's Day effect I think. We parked up Ordered the beer and pizza. I had the 0.5% alcohol Green Mountain Hazy Session IPA and it was very good indeed, I am changing my opinion of alcohol free beers, they are actually just like beer. A lot of chat over lunch about next Sunday when we set off on our Lakes and Dales Tour, the excitement is building and everyone is sooooooo looking forward to it. If you visit Bakewell anytime, pop in here it's worth a look A bit different and a really good day out, thanks everyone for coming8 points

First run out for about 5 weeks today, after taking some time to recover from surgery. Felt so good to get out, and it was a lovely (fairly) gentle ride out in the sun to get back into the swing of things, stopping for a coffee and just enjoying the freedom again! No discomfort either, so I'm back baby! 😃6 points

Nigel Trilk was adamant at Malvern show that they are fully committed to producing 7 and 11 kits, still selling overseas and with a major announcement to be made in the press imminently.4 points

Hi @Craigieboy gutted to read this but you're still upright, albeit in pain. I'd not worry about the cat record it's more about how it's repaired and by who, as long as you detail the repairs with pics and paperwork, most people wouldn't be put off. Just look how @Paul Aspden (MoFast) carried out his chassis replacement and @Si.Dalziel is approaching his rebuild of the S2000 factory demo car. Take your time, explore the options and this great club will be here to assist and advise as and when you're ready.4 points

Good point, colour matching could well be a challenge. Sit down when you’re looking at Westfield replacement bodywork prices!2 points

Day 3 pic of the day. Day 4 Decided to have a relaxing morning and a few drives. Relax and taste some of the local cultures around the pateley bridge area. Mostly ciders and cakes 🤪.We really loved the yorkshire area and the people. I think we enjoyed days 1 to 3 so much we tired ourselves out. A few pics of our chilled out day before our ride home. All the nitty gritty will be in a big write up for the magazine. The friendly cow who I will miss and his mates who I won't as they kept stopping us leave the barn we were staying in.2 points

So sorry to read this, but also relieved to hear you weren't more seriously injured. I hope after day 2 your discomfort settles down and it doesn't affect your holiday plans. Take time to reflect as you say, and don't rush into anything.2 points

Very sorry to read this, but it's a huge relief that you're not more seriously injured! I hope you recover quickly enough to be able to enjoy your holiday still. It's worth contacting Westfield to get a rough idea of parts costs to rebuild if you were to buy the write off, presumably the insurance assessor will have to do similar anyway? Hopefully they can still manufacture chassis since they're selling cars overseas at the moment. Best of luck2 points

So sorry to hear this, but relieved to hear your physically ok, bar the bruises and aches. As others have said, take a mo before deciding what to do.2 points

Firstly, glad you are ok and walked away. You will be totally gutted, I feel for you. Do pause on what to do next. Consider carefully your options as it sounds like a replacement chassis would be needed on a rebuild and the bodywork too. This forum will give plentiful solid advice. I feel your pain. Glad you are ok though Andy2 points

Hi all, just thought I’d give you an update after a bit of a wait .. the Westy has passed its MOT today as a non cat vehicle using the engine specialist report I got and emails from DVSA! You should see the smile on my face and a great day for a blast! Thanks to all for your help and advice with this!!2 points

The assertion was that BEV was useless as transport, no argument about costs, demographics etc. I pay 7p kWh when I pay anything at all. Most of the time I run on solar. When I don’t I run on stored cheap rate. I’d love to have a quiet word with those responsible for giving away our oil wealth though. We should have a bl**** massive sovereign wealth fund. Instead, we have a bl**** massive debt and a small bunch of obscenely rich a********s.2 points

Yip, around 7k for new body panels and no idea what a chassis and aluminium panels would be. Still getting ahead of myself though.1 point

I also saw a YouTube video of him taking about new engine supply and big announcements in the coming weeks.1 point

Thanks. That's interesting I was rightly or wrongly under the impression that they weren't producing any Westfields at all. Certainly needs a new chassis, side panel, scuttle panel, wheel arch and rear tub. That's assuming that new red panels would colour match the existing ones.1 point

Not always the case.. I recommended them to a non member after an off following me at Cadwell.. Whole new front end.. was done in reasonable time and at a reasonable price.. he was really pleased with the whole job1 point

I also am sorry to hear your woes but seriously go and get checked out. Hopefully it is just superficial bruising but you cannot be too careful. if you had to cancel a holiday it would be a sad company to try to wriggle out if you have a medical reason signed by a Dr. The car may well be written off but can be respired far easier than you good luck1 point

When you go into the museum, do they give you highly detailed directions and then at the end, tell you that exiting is the reverse of going in?1 point
