Hi everyone. Some of you have already interacted with me and kindly shared loads of advice to my questions. For the rest of you, ive had my Westy for 2 weeks now and due to this great forum, ive probably learned more in that time than any knowledge ive gained over my lifetime. Id wanted a seven style car for many years and finally found one that I felt had my name on it. All of you can probably relate to the sheer joy i feel when driving her. Its like being on a track everytime im driving. Ive also become obsessive at trolling through these forums reading up on anything i can learn. What a great group of people you are and my sincerest gratitude to all that have and will help me so far.5 points

No not really. I've looked at loads, you know what it's like, the grass is greener etc. Except it's not! I just bid so I get updates via text etc. I'm currently watching about 8 cars in various auctions. I'm considering changing my car life, maybe getting something more usable. Trouble is I love the Carrot so letting it go won't be easy. Also I'm considering the idea of buying auctioned cars and selling them on. The cars with no reserve can often be good buys. It's a lot of work and hassle though. I have a mate who buys and sells Cateringvans and does very well out of it.2 points

Given the popularity of this last year (Should I be worried people want to see me leave the UK ? 😆), lets do it again! @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Chairman & @Stu Faulkner are joining me for a trip to the Alps and the Dolomites. The format will be the same as last year. Here's the start at Tagg Lane @Tim Coles car driven by his son William to Dusseldorf, and @Jakejmagee joined us for the run to Hull. Here's the cars at the Carding Shed- This turned up too, but I don't think we'll see it this year, but it's previous owner ( @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator) is more thank welcome in his new toy. just about parked at a pub in Hull We're going to try some where new this year as , the pub we've used previously doesn't serve food until 5:00pm and won't even take orders before then. Any suggestions for a suitable Westfield rabble pub, appreciated. These have been recommended previously but we've not tried- The current plan sees us meeting at Tagg Lane Dairy, in the peaks at 10:30am, leaving at 11am. We we then head to the Carding Shed in Holmefirth for lunch at about 12:15pm. We then leave the Carding Shed for Hull circa 1:30PM, aiming to arrive at a pub in Hull circa 4:00PM. We'll be keeping off motorways and city centres, where we can ! The likely route from Tagg Lane Please drop me PM's should you wish to join in at any point. We'll have a whatsapp live location group to aid finding us etc, this will be communicated closer to the date to those joining in. You're welcome to dine with us at any of the venues too, however please indicate this up front to aid bookings etc. @Julie Hall - WSCC AO Representative @Marcus Barlow - Show and Events Co-ordinator @Jakejmagee @AndrewBClarke @Geoffrey Carter (Buttercup) @SigmaA @MR.C1 point

Used on my turbo build and now no longer needed. 64mm Throttle body cable bracket has been modified and the cable attachment has been trimmed to fit under a Westfield bonnet. The IACV does not work and is just there to block the hole up. This would not come with the TB as standard. there is a slight dent on the top of the TB which makes the adjustment screw difficult to turn but as its aluminum would be easy to fix if needed. see picture. im after £350 and ill post to the UK for free. This is cheap when the whole thing is £860 new.1 point

After all the excitement of the big show at the weekend, the fun doesn’t stop! It’s the Kitnet pub meet at The Anchor Inn pub tomorrow evening. A nice pub with a big car park next to it overlooking Tintern Abbey, usually a great spot for some stunning photos. Everyone welcome. Meet at 7pm. The Anchor Inn, Tintern, Chepstow, NP16 6TE.1 point

We'd still welcome suggestions for a Westfield friendly (and secure given we'll have all our gear in the cars) within 30 mins drive of Hull Ferry Port. ideally one with outside seating with a view of the cars (Yes, we're paranoid!). One we've had suggested is - Darley's- https://maps.app.goo.gl/DWygqvxGYrcPKMJS61 point

Looks good. I’m disappointed I couldn’t make it. I jumped in the car yesterday and it wouldn’t start, nothing at all from the starter motor. I did some advanced diagnostics (I hit it with a hammer and it started clicking but still not starting) and it looks like I need a new starter motor. Given that it’s been on the car 28 years now and it may have been second hand then, it’s probably fair to say I’ve got my moneys worth out of it. It was nice of it to stop working at home rather than at Malvern or Tintern, so I’m thankful for that. still, a bit gutted I couldnt make it, please come back over another time please.1 point

@BobMet never attended myself, but I used to live not far from there and had an MX5 then. The local MX5 club used to participate and always raved about how good it was.1 point

Hi Tim @TJB22 good to talk with you today. As I suggested: Talk with @Martin Bell - (Bellyboy) East Anglia AO and get along to your local meet and I'm sure someone there will ride with you and confirm if the noises you hear are normal etc.1 point

Car Bubble straight from China - Alibaba) Ordered 26.02.2025, recived today ( by sea transport) , total cost with transport 365 USD. (included shipping fee - 90 USD) I have from years working nonstop two original Caroccons (new from ordered) . So can tell main diffrences: Cacoon vs Carf Bubble (Alibaba) 1. doble layer but afer few yerars outer layer of Carcoon falls apart after a few years in use due to weather conditions (sun / frost). Car Bubble is made from one layer, thik and haevy PVC, will see how it detoriates. 2. Carcoon (outdoor) is available only in silver , Bubble - any colour You like 3. Carcoon floor is really thick PVC. Car Bubble - If not additionally paid - the same as bubble material. From experience, I will advise pay additonaly for thicker floor, as I did. 4. Zipper - Carcoon - plastic. In mine 2 carcoons lost some tooths during few years of use . Cause some back pain during zipping and unzipping... Car bubble - zipper is metal, but cant tell how it will stand during next years 5. Carcoon - defined sizez, Bubble - any size You want 6. Carcoon - no fixing points on outer layer, Car Bubble - possible to oreder additional fixing points 7. Carconn - significantlyh less power - energy consumption . I have measured with a tool - Carcoon - one 10W, second 7 W (both with two fans). Bubble - when two fans working : 32W, one fan 16-17W. 8. Carcoon - fixed two fans. Bubble - two fans, but possible to deattach one (one is enough to keep bubble pressurized, two for faster inflation) 9. Carcoon - much more quiet ! 10. carcoon - better arragement around fans, allowing air to flow, Bubble - easy to block air flow (I have added some foam to avoid this, easy but needed) 11. Carcoon - AC - DC power supply is located inside Carcoon, and have option for battery charging (to be hones, never used this option in any carcoon), just kill swithch and after winter cars started with no problems, 18Ah batteries). Car Bubble - two AC-DC power supply, one for one fan, looks more delicate than this in Cacoon, but will see. Will update differences after few Years So far I am going to try to fix and improve my oldest Carcoon - change the zipper to more robust, if posible change outer layer to more robust, not so fragile, keeping what best in it with low power consumption fans, and two layer construction. Will see it will find a proper craftsman willing to take on this challenge EDIT : Oh and one more difference - in Customer care - mine two carcoons I have orederd straigt from manufacturer in Uk , conatct was well , how to be polite... better will not write it there . 😕 . From China - I got pictures from productiuon , detailed questions regarding every detail, info via whatsup when floor was made, when outer, when tested (with pictures) , when shipped, when arrived to EU, etc etc. Even too much of this Customer Care (and no additional costs taxes / dutes / vat ets , as it was with Carccon) . My third Carcoon was orderd from Demon Tweaks (with staded " 2 weeks " - leading time. Aha.. sure, was few months and still "sorry we can not supply Your orded" ) . Canceled this order. On Alibaba leading time was stated correctly . No delay.1 point
